Velodrome Health (Redux)

    Introduction

Velodrome Finance, at its core, is a solution for protocols on Optimism to properly incentivize liquidity for their own use cases. Building on top of the groundwork laid out by Solidly, our team has addressed that first iteration's core issues to realize its full potential [1].

    Liquidity Pools

Velodrome Finance lets customers exchange digital assets securely, with low costs and slippage. Slippage is the difference between an asset's market price and its execution price. This difference could result in fewer tokens (higher price) or more tokens (lower price) after a trade.

To provide access to the best rates on the market, velodrome identified two types of assets:

    • correlated - for example stable coins ($USDC$DAI, etc.)
    • uncorrelated - for example $LINK and $CRV

Velodrome Finance offers two different liquidity pool types based on token pair needs, Stable Pools and Variable Pools.

The protocol router evaluates both pool types to determine the most efficient price quotation and trade execution route available [2].

    Method

In the current dashboard tired to evaluate the Velodrome performance by analyzing optimism.velodrome databases.

Swap, Liquidity Providing & staking activities assessed over time.

The main tables was used include: optimism.velodrome.ez_swaps, optimism.velodrome.ez_lp_actions &

    optimism.velodrome.ez_staking_actions.

Total inflow changes volume to swaps pairs in 7, 14, 30 & 90 days have been presented.

Also Succeeded and failed transactions rate over past 60 days have been investigated

    Analysis

    :hourglass_flowing_sand: Overall View

The presented numbers show the swap metrics of Velodrome finance in total state.

As can be seen over $2.6B has swapped in 3.26 times that generated $501K Fees for Velodrome and their network.

    ✍🏻 Conclusion

We can now answer the main question, "How healthy is this project?"

As of finding above, we saw that the number of active swappers, swaps transactions new swappers and swaps volume($) increased over time. although all of aforementioned metrics have had fluctuations over time and peaked at Jun 29th and fell and up again to date.

Fail transactions rate was over success transactions per minute over time.

7, 14, 30 & 90 volume percentage changes were positive and considerably increased.

Active and new LPers and Stake/Unstake interactors increased over time.

Taking these indicators into account, we can conclude that Velodrome finance’s situation is robust and the project are totally in a healthy state.

    About:

    Velodrome Health

    The Aims of Dashboard:

Create at least 5 metrics on Velodrome with a description for each that showcase traction and success in a data-driven manner.

Most importantly, your insights should help our readers answer the question "How healthy is this project?"

The following metrics will be assessed:

    Swapping Metrics include:

    > Swap transactions and active users count > > Swap volume > > New swappers Count

    Success/Fail transactions rate

Liquidity Pools Interactions and turnover volume

    Stake/Unstaking activities

    :hourglass_flowing_sand: Swap Metrics Over Tims

The chart right shows the number of active users, new users and growth of new users over time.

As observable about 107.5K new wallets have had interacted with velodrome and the daily count of active and new users increased over time.

    🔭 Findings:

    • According to the line chart above, the failed rate of swap transactions increased by more than 6% per day on some days, peaking at 11% on Oct 12th, 2022, and recently reaching 4.2% on Nov 11th, 2022.
    • Overall the faille rate transactions are over than success transactions per minute.
    • The shade of each dot on the dot graphs above represents the value of corresponding measures while the position on the x- and y- axis are the hour of day and day of the week respectively.
    • From both dot graphs, the transactions have the most positive signal (high sTPM and low TFR) on Sunday morning and evening of each week, while Saturday & Wednesday show the opposite signal.

🏊 Trends of Top Pools on Velodrome

The following section charts show the health of the top 20 pools. The pools are ranked by their all-time volume

The data to generate the chart can be found in the table below to provide a more comprehensive overview of volume and swappers count change in the last 7, 14, 30 & 90 Days.
