Introduction

why NBA play off may have impact?

NBA Top Shot is made on a partnership between the NBA and Dapper Labs, AND it is about the ability to trade the official NBA NFTs. Because of this, start of NBA Conference Finals may have a good impact

Method

1. for volume of topshot NFTs, I used flow.core.fact_nft_sales for between '2022-05-10' and '2022-06-20'

2. for Teams Item data I used flow.core.dim_topshot_metadata Table to collect the NFT_ID for each of them, then I found the volume date of this NFT_IDs in flow.core.fact_nft_sales table

   start of finals : May 17th

   end of finals : May 29th \n

Questions

Q1 : determine whether it had an impact on NBA Top Shot's volume

Q2 : Did the Warriors, Celtics, Mavericks, or Heat see higher sales volume?

This graph shows us:

1. there is a big jump in volume near the start of finals on May 19th

2. we also had a jump after the end of the finals on May, 31th

Conclusion

1- start of NBA finals create a big hype over the topshow NFTs and sale volume has seen good jumps in amount after the start of finals

2- all the teams that reached the finals had seen higher trading volume in their NFT

These graphs show us:

1. Warriors has the highest volume during the finals

2. although heat has not reached the NBA finals but has higher volume then Celtics

3. Mavericks had a good jump in volume amount after wining the game on May 25th

4. All the team has seen higher volume after the start of finals
