Network Performance Dashboard

How has the network performed over the past month compared to the rest of the year? Has transaction per second and success rates of transactions gone up recently? Is this because of less botting or fewer users, or new improvements from the Solana engineers? What wallets and programs have paid the most in fees for failed transactions?

    Introduction

In this dashboard, we obtained the following items using solana.core.fact_transactions Table:

    • Number of Daily Transactions
    • Success Rate of Transactions
    • Top 10 Wallets that Paid Most in Fees for Failed Transactions
    • Top 10 Program that Paid Most in Fees for Failed Transactions

The chart of them is analyzed in the analysis section.

The results are related to the Solana blockchain during 2022.

    Analysis

The number of transactions has been accompanied by a downward trend since the beginning of 2022 and reached its lowest number on April 9 (10 million transactions). After that, it started to increase with a gentle slope and reached 53 million on July 12. The success rate increased on average at the beginning of 2022, but it decreased since March from 0.8 to 0.43 on May 12. But this parameter also increased after this date and returned to 0.82 on May 13.

In my opinion, due to the significant decrease in the success rate at the beginning of the year and the payment of high transaction fees related to unsuccessful transactions, Solana engineers have tried to solve this problem and increase the success rate, which has been effective as it is clear from the graph.

According to the graph of success rate versus the number of unique wallets, these two have a negative correlation. In other words, an increase in the number of users has caused the network to become crowded and the success rate to decrease. But in some timeframe, with the improvement of Solana network(May 12 to May 26), both the number of users and the success rate have also increased.

The top 10 wallets that have paid the highest transaction fees related to failed transactions are highlighted in the chart.

The top 10 programs that have paid the highest transaction fees related to failed transactions are also shown in the chart.
