Trend of Pools

Q78. What kind of pools do users usually withdraw or deposit into for the last 90 days? is there any pattern/trend we can see from it?

    Introduction

We first show the number of daily transactions on each of the liquidity pools. In the chart below we have obtained the number of transactions in the last 90 days on each of the pools using the ethereum_core.ez_dex_swaps table.

    Results & Discussion

Liquidity Pool is one of the most important foundations of the DeFi ecosystem. In an automated market maker(AMM) system, the liquidity pool plays a heart role. Liquidity pools are generally smart contracts in which a collection of funds is locked in. Liquidity pools are used to facilitate decentralized trading systems, landing, etc.

Users called liquidity providers (LP) add an equal value of two tokens in a pool to create a market. In exchange for providing their funds, they earn trading fees from the trades that happen in their pool, proportional to their share of the total liquidity.

In this Analysis we discuss the following topics about Sushiswap pools:

    • Daily transactions on different kinds of pools
    • Top pools on Sushiswap
    • The share of each pool in the deposit/withdrawal of users' liquidity
    • Daily amount that users deposit/withdrawal to pools

As you can see, the highest number of transactions on most days is related to USDC-WETH SLP, which reached its maximum number of 2803 transactions per day on May 12. On some days the number of transactions on a particular pool has increased, for example:

    • WETH-JPEG SLP - March 1 and April 6 - 1864 and 1335 transactions, respectively
    • CVX-WETH SLP - March 4 - 1275 transactions
    • KP3R-WETH SLP - March 6 - 953 transactions
    • APE-WETH SLP - March 18 and April 30 - 2797 and 947 transactions, respectively
    • SPELL-WETH SLP - March 21 - 1301 transactions
    • WETH-ALCX SLP - March 20, 25, and April 14 - 491, 476, and 479 transactions, respectively
    • USDC-WETH SLP - February 24 and May 11, 12 - 2640, 2791, and 2803 transactions, respectively
    • DAI-WETH SLP - February 24 and May 11, 12 - 667, 694, and 905 transactions, respectively
    • ICHI-WETH SLP - April 11 to April 15 - 1359, 1040, 2441, 2902, and 2025 transactions, respectively
    • SYN-WETH SLP - May 11- 766 transactions
    • Sushi-WETH SLP - March 31 and May 13 - 597 and 886 transactions, respectively
    • WETH-LUNA SLP - from May 10 to now - Huge Number!
    • LDO-WETH SLP - May 9 - 1304 transactions
    • FXS-WETH SLP - April 2 - 802 transactions

In the following, we can see the top 20 pools on Sushiswap based on the number of transactions in the last 90 days.

As you can see from the above chart, USDC-WETH SLP with 105,243 transactions is in the first place. In general, stable coins peers in the pools are the most popular among users; for example USDT and DAI in second and fourth place.

Now let's see the Top pools based on USD amount in the last 90 days.

As before, USDC-WETH SLP is in the first place by a large margin. The point that can be argued from the above chart is that unlike the previous chart (Top pools based on the number of transactions), in the third and fourth place are SYN-WETH SLP and WETH-JPEG SLP, respectively, which can be said that the average amount of transactions in These two pools are larger than OHM-WETH SLP and DAI-WETH SLP.

Knowing the share of each pool on different days can also help our perspective on the impact of each. So, we will discuss the following chart.

As can be seen from the chart, on some days, in terms of volume, some pools have taken the place of USDC-WETH SLP. For example, on March 17 and 18, 57.4% and 46% of the trading volume occurred on the APE-WETH SLP, respectively, and on April 20, the DSD-WETH SLP accounted for nearly 68.9% of the daily trading volume. Although the number of transactions is small, the amounts are significant, which indicates that several Whales have performed transactions.

And finally, we see the daily amount of users' deposit/withdrawal to each pool in the last 90 days.

Based on the above chart, some pools have a large volume on certain days. For example:

    • DSD-WETH SLP - April 20 - 185.5 M$
    • APE-WETH SLP - March 17, 18 - 66.8 M$ and 46.7 M$ respectively
    • WETH-USDT SLP - May 12 - 51.8 M$
    • USDC-WETH SLP - May 12 - 144.6 M$
    • DAI-WETH SLP - May 12 - 45 M$
    • ICHI-WETH SLP - May 11 - 27 M$
    • SYN-WETH SLP - May 11 - 32.15 M$
    • LDO-WETH SLP - May 9 - 30.95 M$
    • KP3R-WETH SLP - March 6 and 26 - 24.2 M$ and 21 M$ respectively
    • CVX-WETH SLP - March 4 - 22 M$
    • FXS-WETH SLP - April 2 - 25.57 M$

Well, as a conclusion from the above topics, the following can be stated:

    • USDC-WETH is the most popular pool in the Sushiswap.
    • In May, with the fall in the price of ‌Bitcoin, the volume of transactions on the pools has grown sharply.
    • On May 12, the volume of transactions on the top 20 pools in terms of trading volume will reach about 340 million dollars.
    • As of April 20, the DSD-WETH pool accounted for about 69% of the total trading volume.
    • On March 17 and 18, the volume of APE-WETH trading was much higher than the other days and accounted for 57.4% and 46% of the trading volume, respectively.
