Liquidity Pools - Wallet Composition
What type of wallets provide liquidity on Osmosis?

✅ Observations
It is clear that the composition of the LPs changes depending on the TVL.
-
For example, if you look at the "Pool1 Composition/ TVL", the amount of Whale_TVL (pool of whales) jumps to the shark TVL (pool of sharks). (If TVL>35M)
The Lp composition of ships, fish and curbs also changes when the TVL is ==>35M!
-
In "Pool 560 composition/ TVL," the same story is presented.
-
The LP composition is more clearly recognizable in “Pool 678 composition/ TVL“! The amount of liquid in fish jumps significantly on the shrimp TVL and curb TVL!
Based on these facts, the answer to question 3 is YES. The LP composition based on the TVL of the pool itself has changed!
🧠 Methodology:
-
Based on the osmosis amount of each wallet, we have grouped the wallets as follows:
-
Small holder less than 10 osmosis
-
Plankton between 10 and 100
-
Shrimp between 100 and 1000
-
Crab between 1000 and 10000
-
Fish between 10000 and 1000000
-
Shark between 1000000 and 10000000
-
Whales larger than 10000000 osmosis
\
-
-
Based on the grouping above, we calculated the number and volume of liquids provided for each group.
\
-
We found 3 pools: 1, 560, and 678 are the largest pools. First, we determined the daily TVL of each pool, then the daily TVL of each group. After that, we linked these two tables and presented the composition per TVL.
✍️ Description of Work
In this dashboard, we want to analyze the “Liquidity Pools - Wallet Composition“. For this, we check the following:
- Number of liquidity provided by the type of wallets
- The volume of liquidity provided by the type of wallets
- Cumulative provide liquidity volume by type of wallets
- Cumulative provide liquidity number by type of wallets
- Daily provide liquidity volume by type of wallets
- Daily provide liquidity number by type of wallets
- TVL of pools 1, 678, 560
- Pool 1 composition per day
- Pool 678 composition per day
- Pool 560 composition per day
- Pool 1 composition/TVL
- Pool 560 composition/TVL
- Pool 678 composition/TVL
- Total OSMO TVL
- Composition/TVL for all pools
✅ Observations
1️⃣ The following type of wallets provides liquidity on Osmosis:
In terms of numbers: ==Smallholders, Plangtons, Shrimp, Crabs, Fishes, sharks, and whales== are the LPs on Osmosis, respectively.
53.1% of the total number of LPs done by Smallholders!
In terms of volume: ==Smallholders, Shrimps, Plangtons, Crabs, Fishes, sharks, and whales== are the LPs on Osmosis, respectively.
32.4% of total volumes in LPs are related to smallholders.
2️⃣liquidity is not concentrated! Its distributed and not only owned by a small number of whales but also owned by all of the users, which constitute smallholders, planktons, shrimps, and …
3️⃣Do LP composition change based on TVL of the pools themselves?
As we explain in methodology section, we found 3 pools: 1, 560, and 678 are the largest pools. First, we determined the daily TVL of each pool, then the daily TVL of each group. After that, we linked these two tables and presented the composition per TVL.
✔️ Result and discussion:
Based on our findings:
✔️ The Smallholders, Plangtons, Shrimp, Crabs, fish, sharks, and whales are the different types of wallets that provide liquidity on Osmosis!
✔️ The liquidity is not only concentrated and does not own by a small number of whales, but also there is a diverse range of participants in the LP ecosystem!
✔️ Also, LP composition changes based on the TVL of the pools themselves, as explained in section 3!
