Bridge Users (Hop Protocol)

Q1. How many unique users have bridged to L2s using Hop? What days in the past 6 months have seen the most volume bridged, and were there any specific events that may have driven these spikes? Which assets have been bridged the most? Show an analysis of the asset distribution of bridging through Hop.

1.How many unique users have bridged to L2s using Hop?

From below Figure, there is a total of 54.7k unique users bridging to L2s using Hop.

From below bar graph, we can notice that ETH has the highest volume in bridging from L1 to L2 with an accumulated amount of 601.314M of USD followed by the second highest asset: USDC, with a total amount of 289.50M of USD. In contrast, the bridging volume of DAI, USDT and Matic token from L1 to L2 depicting in below graph reflects that these assets don't gain much interest from the HOP users.

From below graph, we can observe that 1 June, 24 Feb, 13 Jan and 20 Jan depicting the top 4 highest bridging volume which are 11.6M, 11M, 9.4M and 8.3M respectively. During 1 June, Optimism, launched the anticipated airdrop of its new OP governance token, rewarding early users of the project and other select Ethereum users by sending free tokens to nearly 249,000 eligible wallets. Thus, we believe that this event has triggered HOP users to bridge their assets from L1 to optimism on L2 to carry out OP token transactions in the dapps on optimism platform, hence, causing the surging bridging volume on 1 June.
