Flow-19.FLOW Usage During the NBA Playoffs
Analyze the start of the NBA playoffs (mid-April) and determine whether it had an impact on Flow transaction volume. What about NBA Top Shots?
Methodology
- We define Flow Transaction Volume as the number of NFT Sales on Flow in regards to the NBA Top Shots.
- Find all the NFT sales from
flow.core.fact_nft_sales
and filter on marketplace ilike 'A.c1e4f4f4c4257510.%', this is the Top Shot Marketplace. - We compare it against all the non-topshot transaction from
flow.core.fact_nft_sales
sales. - Also then we look at each sale and join with the metadata based on the NFT Id to find the teams.
Analyze the NBA Conference Finals (May 17th- May 29th) and determine whether it had an impact on NBA Top Shot's volume ?
- Looking at the Transaction Frequency, there was a slight spike on May 19 and May 26, 2022, all the other days have not seen much spike as compared to other days.
- The Topshot sales have not been much different from the other days in May, so it seems like the finals did not have much impact on the sales.
- Percentage wise as compared to overall sales, top shot did not have much change due to the finals as well.
