Flow-2.When Do Transactions Fail?

-- Q2. Do times of high transaction volume lead to more transaction failures? -- Create a visualization that shows the relationship between transaction volume and success rate of transactions since May 9th. -- Are there any noticeable patterns to when transactions are more likely to fail? -- Were there specific events that seem to cause transaction failures?

    Methodology

    • Find all transactions and group by the tx_status from flow.core.fact_events
    • Group by event_contract to find the type of contracts.

Do times of high transaction volume lead to more transaction failures?

    • Transaction volume was highest on May 9, 2022, 770K transactions and May 27, 2022 882K transactions.
    • May 9 saw 93% passing transactions even with such high transaction volume, and May 27 saw only 36% passing vs 64% failing.
    • This seems to suggest that high transaction volume is not indicative of transactional failures.

Are there any noticeable patterns to when transactions are more likely to fail?

    • There don't seems to be any specific patterns but something happened after May 26, that lead to a lot of transactional failures in particular, irrespective of the transaction volume

    Failing transaction contract types

    • Most of the failing transactions started Since May 26, 2022.
    • Most of the failures are coming from the Flow Token and Fees contracts.
    • Highest were 522K each on May 27, 2022.
