Overview

• In this Free Square question we look at the following metrics, for both failed and successful transactions. Our main focus in this analysis is how Flow is doing in terms of transactions health and number of users transacting during downturn in month of May 2022.
  • Transaction Frequency - Overtime
  • Number of Users - over time
  • Cumulative Number of Transactions vs Number of Users over time.
  • Gas Used over time $USD - Cumulative, Over time
  • Success Rate of Transactions, Over time vs cumulative
  • Transaction Per Block - Min,Max and Average.
  • Time Takes between Blocks - Min,Max and Average.
  • Swap Frequency - Overtime
  • Number of Swappers - over time
  • Cumulative Number of swaps vs Number of Swappers over time.

Transaction Frequency - Overtime

• We see quite variable range of 100k-800k transactions daily on Flow during May 2022.
• The highest was 878K, with 854K Successful and 24.3K Failed transactions.
• The frequency has remained variable over time with a lot more failures towards end of May.

Number of Users - Cumulative, Overtime

• We see around 368K to 523K users daily on Flow especially in the first week of May, then this number falls to around 30K users.
• The highest was 525K users, with 525K users having Successful txns and 2k with Failed transactions.
• The daily number of unique users interacting with the platform has decreased a lot over time.
• Looking at the cumulative number of txns vs user, we have see 30M transactions in May 2022 with 4.4M users.

Transaction Success Rate

• May saw 3M Failed vs 12M Passing transactions, which means we see about 20% of transactions failure every day.
• This number seems high, we have also seen as high as 83% failure on May 29, 2022.
• Flow certainly needs to work on this failure rate.

Block Metrics

Transactions Per Block

• Max transactions per block saw 165 txns and on average we saw ~9 txns per block.

Time difference between Blocks

• Most of the blocks are after ~1.44 seconds on average, however we have seen like 49 seconds of difference between blocks.

Swap Frequency

• A lot more swap activity was seen in the first week of May, as well as the 20-23 May.
• The highest frequency was 4.5K transactions on May 1 and May 20.

Number of Swappers

• Number of swappers has been quite variable, but we saw some spikes on May 4, 12, and 18, 2022.
• We saw a total of 55K swaps by ~1K wallets.
