Overview

• Flow ecosystem is quite interesting and has taken the world by storm with its NFTs across NHL and NFL.
• This analysis includes the following categories:

• Transaction Metrics
• Flow Token Price
• Swap Metrics - To FLow
• Swap Metrics - From Flow
• Stake Metrics
• Development Metrics
• NFT Sale Metrics

The analysis is done from Dec 2022 → Jan 2023 and the dashboards are set to refresh daily as data comes in for Jan 2023. But that can be changed as needed from the parameters above.

Methodology

For various Flow metrics we look at the following flow.core tables and from each table we deduce the required metrics.

• flow.core.fact_transactions
• flow.core.ez_swaps
• flow.core.ez_staking_actions
• flow.core.fact_events
• flow.core.ez_nft_sales

For new wallets, minters, buyers, swappers, etc, we look at the first transaction of each wallet since the starting of Flow Chain.

• Once we have the list, we filter out based on the parameters set above.

Definitions

• Swapper: Any wallet that swap To or From $FLOW token.
• Staker: Any wallet that delegates/stakes $FLOW to a validator.
• Contract: Smart contract used when the transaction is executed.
• NFT Buyer: Any wallet that buys NFT from the secondary marketplace.

Swap Metrics - To Flow

• Number of swap transactions to $FLOW saw some spike in the last week of 2022, however that has gone back down to around 100 swaps per day.
• Swap Volume To FLOW spiked on Dec 30, 2022 to 300K $FLOW, however it was just short lived with it being back to around 100K $FLOW per day.
• Number of Swappers are pretty stable as well around 40 wallets everyday.
• Number of New Swappers joining the ecosystem is interesting, we see a constant stream of around 10-15 new wallets, which is an awfully low number.

Stake Metrics

• Number of stake transactions are quite sporadic with spikes, most of the days we see about 100 stake transactions, when suddenly we will see around 6K
• What is interesting is the spike in stake volume per day, Dec 2,7,16,22,30 and Jan 06 in particular saw the number spiking
• Till date 7.93M $FLOW has been staked.
• Number of Stakers are the same as the number of staking transactions.
• Number of New Stakers joining the ecosystem is interesting but a very small number.

Swap Metrics - From Flow

• Number of swap transactions from $FLOW saw some spike in the last week of 2022 and Jan 03 in particular, however that has gone back down to around 100 swaps per day.
• Swap Volume From $FLOW spiked on Dec 30, 2022 from 230K $FLOW, however it was just short lived with it being back to around 50K $FLOW per day.
• Number of Swappers are pretty stable as well around 60 wallets everyday.
• Number of New Swappers joining the ecosystem is interesting, we see a constant stream of around 10-15 new wallets swapping from $FLOW for the first time.

Development Metrics

• Flow seems to quite dead by the look of new contract being created, only 1 new contract was created in 2023 till date.

• 79 new contracts were deployed in Dec 2022.

NFT Sale Metrics

• Sale metrics are interesting, Dec 2022 only saw a spike on Dec 16, 2022.
• There are about 3K NFT buyers everyday out of which only 50 are first time buyers.
• NFT secondary market on FLOW seems to be alive with about 3K buyers everyday.
• Till date 71K NFTS has been sold and 255 new wallets joining the NFT space.

NFT Sale Metrics - Deep Dive Top 10 (Dec 2022- Jan 2023)

• Top Shot and All day are the Top 2 NFT collections by Sales Volume since the beginning of the year.

• Top Shot wins with 50K $FLOW in sales volume followed by All Day with 20K $FLOW

• The number of buyers for Top Shot are 4.2K, where as they are 2.2K for All Day.

• The sales volume for Top Shot is 800K sales vs 400K for All Day.

Transaction Metrics

• Number of transactions saw a small spike in the last week of Dec up to 400K per day, however have fallen since in the new year to 300K per day.
• 2023 has already seen about 2M transactions in a few days.
• Number of Active Wallets are pretty interesting on Dec 15, 2022 we see 5.7K wallets being active out of which 5.3K are new wallets transacting for the first time.
• Number of New Wallets joining the ecosystem is interesting, we see a constant stream of around 100-125 new wallets joining Flow Ecosystem everyday.

Flow Token Price

• The token price itself has taken quite a beating, it has fallen down 30% since the beginning of Dec 2022 from 1.1 $USD to 0.7$USD.
• It has again gained back up to 1.1 $ now.

Conclusion

• Number of transactions have pretty much stayed the same around 9K transactions per day.
• Number of stake transactions are quite sporadic with spikes, most of the days we see about 100 stake transactions, when suddenly we will see around 6K
• What is interesting is the spike in stake volume per day, Dec 2,7,16,22,30 and Jan 06 in particular saw the number spiking
• People sold a lot of $FLOW for the new years preparation on Dec 30, 2022.
• Overall Flow is know for the NFT ecosystem which is alive and kicking.
