Methodology and Overview

We look at all the sales for Flow, Ethereum and Solana from flow.core.ez_nft_sales, flipside_prod_db.solana.fact_swaps and solana.fact_nft_sales tables.
We are looking at only 30 days of past sales for analysis and are comparing Flow vs Ethereum vs Solana
Once we have all the sales we look at the following metrics
- Number of Sales
- Number of Sellers
- Number of Buyers
- Average Sales/Day
- Average Buyers/Day
- Average Sales Price/Day
We look at the both the daily, average and the cumulative numbers for each of these metrics.

We are ignoring data from Sudoswap Marketplace, it seems to have had bad data

Sale Volume - $USD

Ethereum is clearly dominant in terms of Sales Volume($USD), followed by Solana and Flow respectively.
Highest for Ethereum was 71.3M $USD on Sep 11, 2022.
Highest for Solana was 10.8M $USD on Sep 6, 2022.
Highest for Flow was 9.2M $USD on Aug 19, 2022.
Ethereum has the highest running Average Volume per day with 38.9M $USD, followed by Solana with 3.6M $USD and Flow with 2.6M $USD.

Number of Sellers

Ethereum is comparable to Solana in terms of Number of Sellers, followed by Flow respectively.
Highest for Ethereum was 34.1K on Aug 29, 2022.
Highest for Solana was 28.5K on Sep 7, 2022.
Highest for Flow was 12.8K on Sep 12, 2022.
Ethereum has the highest running Average Number of sellers per day with 27.3K, followed by Solana with 15.8K and Flow with 5.9K sellers.

Number of Buyers

Ethereum is comparable to Solana in terms of Number of buyers, followed by Flow respectively.
Highest for Ethereum was 25.6K on Aug 30, 2022.
Highest for Solana was 27.2K on Sep 7, 2022.
Highest for Flow was 20.7K on Aug 19, 2022.
Ethereum has the highest running Average Number of buyers per day with 21.6K, followed by Solana with 15.1K and Flow with 5.4K buyers.

Number of Sales

Ethereum dominated Solana until the week of April 25, 2022, however after that Solana is visibly dominant.
Highest for Ethereum was 544K during the week of Jan 24, 2022.
Highest for Solana was 1M during the week of Sep 5, 2022.
Till date since the beginning of year we have seen 15M for ethereum and 13M for Solana, but soon Solana should cross Ethereum.

Cumulative Metrics

Ethereum has the highest cumulative number of sellers with 848K, followed by Solana with 491K and Flow with 183K.
Ethereum has the highest cumulative number of buyers with 672K, followed by Solana with 471K and Flow with 175K.
Solana has the highest cumulative number of sales with 2.8M, followed by Ethereum with 1.45M and Flow with 708K.
Ethereum has the by far the highest cumulative Sale Volume with 1.1B, followed by Solana with 111M and Flow with 80.6M.

Daily and Average Metrics

Conclusion

Ethereum still dominates Solana and Flow in terms of number of buyers, sellers and transaction volume.
Solana dominates Flow and Ethereum in terms of number of sales.
It is only a matter of time when Solana overtakes Ethereum, however with the recent merge we might see price of ETH transactions come down, which means Ethereum might still have a fighting chance.
Flow itself has a long way to go as compared to these other two gigantic blockchains.
