Polygon has about 2X the number of transactions as compared to Ethereum.
Till date polygon has 20M txns vs Ethereum has only 8M in the month of July 2022.

Number of Users Over Time vs Cumulative

We also take a look at the number of users transacting on Polygon vs Ethereum.
Surprisingly even though Polygon has highest number of transactions, it has lower number of transaction users on a daily basis.
Till date Ethereum has 2.6M users vs 1.7M for polygon.

Ethereum obviously has a lot higher daily fee as compared to Polygon.
Some days see ETH with 3.9M $USD in fee vs only 32K for polygon.
Till date we have seen 22.4M $USD collected in fees for ETH vs 206K for Polygon.

No they are not co-related at all, polygon has consistently had 20-30K $USD in daily fees, whereas Ethereum has seen quite a lot of variation.
