What is Saber ?

• Saber is an automated market maker and liquidity pool on Solana designed for extremely efficient trading between similarly priced (pegged) assets, without an opportunity cost.
• This trading activity results in fees for providers of liquidity, resulting in a safer, lower-risk staking opportunity representing real world transaction volume.[1]

Why Saber?

• It is a misconception that Saber is competing with general AMMs and orderbooks.

• They are not the same and go after different markets.

Saber is meant to be a place for low risk staking on large transaction volume.

• It encourages high volume by having the best pricing for swaps (encouraging arbitrage bots to trade), and it is extremely composable with other DeFi applications on Solana, reducing the opportunity cost for the otherwise low yields. [2] [1] [2]

Solana Swapped into other assets

• In total 420k of SOL tokens were swapped into other assets.

Daily Amount

• January saw a spike in swap from volume between 5k-15k however it declined quickly below 5k daily after that.
• However there were days of spikes like Jan 7 where the # of swapped SOL was 27K.

Average amount of SOL swapped

• Since the number of swaps follow a pattern similar to the amount of SOL swapped, I was interested in the average swap.
• Looks like the average amount swapped is quite variable between 100-400 SOL
  • There are spikes where we >400 $SOL transaction as well.

Other assets swapped into Solana

In total 258M of SOL tokens were swapped into from other assets.

Daily Amount

• Most of the days we see the amount of SOL swapped from other assets is between 2k-5k swaps.
• However there were days of spikes like Jan 7, Jan 24 and May 7 where the amount of swapped SOL was 16.8K, 16.2K and 22.4K respectively.

Average amount of SOL swapped

• Since the number of swaps follow a pattern similar to the amount of SOL swapped, I was interested in the average swap.
• Looks like the average amount swapped is pretty consistent between 20-50 SOL.
  • However there are certain exceptions where we have an average of assets swapped into like 10.6K on July 2, 2022 which is certainly an anomaly.

  • Highest swap from SOL is ~ 6.9K
  • Highest swap to SOL is ~21.2K

Number of Swaps vs Number of Swappers

• On a daily basis we see the number of swaps are quite variable and follow the pattern of the amount of Solana Swapped, but overall the pattern has been in decreasing trend after Jan 2022.
  • Highest number of swaps from were 130 swaps on Jan 07, 2022.
• The number of people swapping are between 20-40 swappers everyday.
  • This is quite a low number.

• Till date since Jan 01 2022, 420K SOL has been swapped from in 3.4K transactions by 2.1K users.

• Till date since Jan 01 2022, 356K SOL has been swapped to in 4.9K transactions by 3.2K users.
• Overall trend as seen here is that more people are swapping to SOL, even if the total amount of asset to SOL swapped is less.

• On a daily basis we see the number of swaps are quite variable and follow the pattern of the amount of Solana Swapped, but the overall trend is decreasing numbers for both.
  • Highest number of swaps to SOL were 243 swaps on Apr 29, 2022.
• The number of people swapping are between 20-50 everyday, which is quite low.
