• The queries are limited to limit 900000000 otherwise the query just has a timeout.

What percentage of Solana that has been transacted is staked?

• Before we look at the percentage, lets look at the amount of Solana staked vs transacted and also the number of transactions for each.
• On a daily basis most of the transactions are non-staking transactions, which seems to make sense.
  • On a daily basis anywhere between 20-30M SOL is transferred, out of which staking accounts for about 1M of the transaction amount. This has changed recently with as much daily amount > 85M
  • If we look at the number of transactions, we see anywhere between 1-4M transactions, out of these only a very few are staking transactions, sometimes a few hundreds and very occasionally a few thousands.
  • Non-Staking transactions has seen a spike in recent week with as high as 9.7M transactions.

How has that percentage changed throughout the month of January?

• On a daily basis the %age of Solana staked is < 2%, however other days see somewhere between 2-10%
  • Highest was 9.3% on Jan 03 2022
• Apart from amount we also take a look at the number of transactions staking vs others.
  • The %age number of transactions are very less almost < 0.05% daily, however on some days it is as high as 0.26%.

What is the average amount of Solana staked during a staking transaction?

• Daily Average of Solana staked is somewhere between 100-2K Solana tokens.
  • The highest being 40.8K on Jan 08, 2022
  • That is very high as compared to the average non-staking transaction of 1-10 SOL
• The Percentage chart shows the same where the average amount staked is > 95% on most days.
