Sushi-84.Stablecoins

-- Q84. The growth of non-volatile assets pegged to a fiat currency has been a one of the clear trends in crypto in the last few years. -- However, during the past days, a big fatal event occurred when Terra UST peg token started to depegging from $1. -- Many different projects proposed different models to define their own stablecoins. -- For this Bounty, analyse the stablecoin landscape on Sushiswap, identifying the various tokens available -- and their main metrics (volume, number of swaps, TVL, and other relevant for you). -- Argue why any of these stablecoins could succeeded in comparison to UST and why.

    Methodology

    • Look at ethereum.dex_swaps table and choose platform sushiswap
    • Join token_address with token_prices_hourly to get the symbol name
    • Filter the symbol name for the stable coins and find various metrics since 01 May, 2022.

    Number of Transactions

    • The most popular stablecoin by far is USDC which has the most number of transactions, totalling 20.5K transactions.
    • The second popular stablecoin is USDT with 14.34K transactions.
    • Other stablecoins like DAI and UST have about half the transactions as compared to to USDT and USDC

    Swap Volume

    • The most popular stablecoin by far is USDC which has the most swap volume totalling 338.7M $USD
    • The second popular stablecoin is USDT totalling 134.6M $USD.
    • The third popular stablecoin is DAI totalling 105.6M $USD.
    • UST seems to have very less swap volume.

    Number of Wallets

    • USDC is still most popular stablecoing with a total of 1.2K wallets making transactions.
    • The second popular stablecoin is USDT totalling 1K wallets making transactions.
    • Number of wallets is interesting, since USDT is very close to USDC and even DAI is giving a fight with 875 wallets.
