    Conclusion

    • OSMO holders are moving towards holding OSMO as more liquid rather than Staked.
    • The average OSMO holding have been reduced significantly, however the number of wallets holding OSMO has sky rocketed.
    • Once the market improves, it will be interesting to see how OSMO does.

Are the top 100 OSMO holders the same now as they were at the start of the year?

    • Given below are all the current Top 100 OSMO holders

Do wallets normally hold a majority of OSMO, or another token? How has this changed over time?

    • Looking at the data below INJ in liquid form is the most held token based on the price of the token and joining the balances table with osmosis.core.dim_prices
      • This seems like a mistake in the pricing data, however OSMO both liquid and staked are not far behind in terms of being the Top 5 Tokens.

    • The current Average OSMO per wallets is 888 OSMO for Staked OSMO and 1149 for Liquid OSMO.

How has that value changed over time? Plot average OSMO/wallet against user growth.

    • The Daily average OSMO has come down for both staked and liquid OSMO, from around 2.2K to around 1K now.
    • The number of wallets in the time have grown 8X from 33K to 224K for staked and 60K to 374K for liquid OSMO.

    Methodology

    • All the metrics are derived from osmosis.core.fact_daily_balances
    • We analyze the data starting from 2022-01-01 but that can be changed from the parameters above.
    • For the majority of tokens held we look at the top 5 tokens, but that can be changed as needed.

How has the ratio of liquid to staked OSMO changed overtime?

    • The %age of staked OSMO has been hovering around 30%, however in the recent weeks the the staked OSMO is down to 25%, with liquid OSMO rising to 75%.
