Findings
-
In the last 90 days, 62.9k unique Osmosis wallets have performed at least 1 transaction at least 3 days a week (or weeks) and can be considered active wallets. These wallets make up 9.34% of the 0.673m wallets on the Osmosis chain.
-
While 2022 has the highest amount of active wallets with 39.32k (62.5% of all wallets), 14.68K (23.4%) active wallets have made their first transaction since 2023 and can be considered newly created wallets. In addition, 8.8k (14.1%) of them were created in 2021, during the early days of Osmosis.zone.
Both of these stats are positive for the Osmosis chain. These numbers show that many of the new users are active. Also, there are some old wallets in Osmosis that have been using it for a long time and are satisfied with the protocol!
Findings
-
39.8% of active wallets have just 1 week with +3 daily transactions in their activity history, 16.7% have 8 weeks, and 7.94% have 2 weeks with these conditions.
-
The reason for the high share of the 1 week group can be the adding of some features on Osmosis Recently,
Like: WAVAX/OSMO pool, Mars protocol launch and also the new version of Terra station wallet which supports Osmosis chain and can boost IBC transfers to Osmosis chainβs stats!
-
Osmosis has 2711 hyperactive wallets, each with +3 daily transactions over the past 13 weeks! These wallets are 4.31% of the total active wallets.

What is Osmosis?
Osmosis is a multi-chain DEX specifically built to function with other blockchains in the Cosmos ecosystem. Communication with these other blockchains is achieved via its Inter-Blockchain Communication protocol (IBC). Because Osmosis is linked to other Tendermint blockchains, providing smooth, fast trades.
Its automated market makers set it apart, allowing enhanced market responsiveness for liquidity providers. (source)

Methodology
To find active wallets, I used the following filter:
A wallet that has made transactions on at least 3 days a week in the past 90 days. (even a single week, as we can consider the newly created ones too) .
- The number of transactions does not matter and a wallet can make 1 transaction daily. However, transactions must be done on 3 different days of the week.
- I subtracted addresses with labels (like exchange wallets, token LPs,...) from normal wallets in order to find as many personal wallets as possible.
Plus the above conditions, I used a rating system to find the variety of the kind of transactions of the active wallets and these are the kind of transactions I looked for:
> * Token swapping
> * Staking actions (staking, unstaking, redelegating, claiming rewards)
> * LP actions (Providing liquidity, removing liquidity, farming LP tokens, claiming rewards)
> * Superfluid staking actions (starting, removing, redelegating, claiming rewards)
> * Lending/Borrowing actions on Mars Protocol
> * Governance voting
> * IBC transferring (in or out)
> * ICNS minting
>

A star symbol (π) is given to each of these activities, and each wallet can earn up to 8 stars based on the type of its transactions.
Wallets get a rating based on the number of stars they got, representing their spot among the whole active wallets, and this is how the scoring system works:
> * π : (Total number of transactions) * 0.01 > * ππ: (Total number of transactions) * 0.02 > * πππ : (Total number of transactions) * 0.04 > * ππππ : (Total number of transactions) * 0.08 > * πππππ : (Total number of transactions) * 0.16 > * ππππππ: (Total number of transactions) * 0.32 > * πππππππ: (Total number of transactions) * 0.64 > * ππππππππ: (Total number of transactions) * 1.28
A wallet with +4 stars in this system is considered a high rated wallet, and a wallet with just 1 star is considered a single acting wallet.
I think this method can give better value to wallets that make different types of transactions, and have more interactions with the Osmosis ecosystem.
Hello! In this dashboard I tried to find Osmosis chainβs active wallets in recent 90 days, also I created a scoring system in order to find top active wallets.
Findings
-
Each active wallet has done 164 transactions in the past 90 days on average, which is 158 more than the average number of transactions done by non-active Osmosis wallets.
-
On average, 62.9k wallets have done 115.1k transactions per day in the past 90 days. The rest of the Osmosis wallets have done 13.7k transactions per day on average.
-
Comparing the $OSMO token price changes and the number of transactions made by active wallets, we can say there is some correlation between these two metrics. This is because when the $OSMO price was on its low days in early January the number of daily transactions by active wallets was not high either!
Findings
-
Taking up 33.3% of the total transaction types, swapping is the most common transaction type done by active wallets on Osmosis. These wallets have done more than 2.74m swap transactions in recent 90 days. After Swapping, IBC transferring and staking actions is the next preferred action for active wallets, accounting for 20.4% and 17.9% of total transactions, respectively.
\
Findings
- Total of 16.51k wallets among active wallets have done +4 transaction types. These wallets are 26.3% of the total active wallets and have achieved a +4 star performance! However, many active wallets (46.4k -73.7%) do not have the same adventurous streak as those 16.51k wallets!

- Osmosis has recently added several new features, such as WAVAX / OSMO pool, the Mars protocol, and a new Terra Station wallet version, resulting in an increase in wallet activity because many wallets have recently been able to meet the active wallet requirements.
- Swapping, IBC transferring and staking are the most common actions among active wallets, accounting for more than 70 percent of the transaction types done by them.
- The top 100 wallets show much more variety than the overall active wallets in making different types of transactions. Nearly half of the active wallets only perform 2 types of transactions, but 96% of the top 100 wallets have done at least 5 kinds of transactions!
