Solport

    Solport is a new NFT marketplace on Solana which launched a V2 on March 12th. Compared to one of the most popular NFT marketplaces in Solana "Magic Eden", it is interesting to see the difference gap between these two marketplaces in many aspects.

    Methodology

    1. Divided query into two subqueries and count of purchasers on each program_id from fact_nft_sales
    2. In terms of sales volume, we did the same as the previous step, but this time we use summing the sales amount from fact_nft_sales instead.
    3. In the case of 'Taiyo Robotics', the dim_nft_metadata has also been used to identify the specific project to filter out this project's sales volume. we join both tables based on 'mint' from each schema.

    The easiest way to compare the position between two marketplaces is to compare these two markets with the number of users selling their NFT, and the total sales volume to see the capital flow from each marketplace. The result is shown in the next two charts below:

    As expected, the gap between these two marketplaces is too different in terms of unique wallet sellers and Sales volume. In detail, the average number of unique wallets from Solport is around 73 wallets while there are 12,380 wallets from Magic Eden which made the NFT Sales within the period of time. Also, Solport has a total average sales volume of around 640 while Magic Eden's sales volume is approximately 83,000.

    As Taiyo Robotics is one of the major products on Solport which is majorly promoted in convincing the users to use the platform. As the campaign is to persuade the users to use a Solport marketplace, the charts below show the trends of Taiyo selling in both marketplaces.

    Taiyo Robotics NFT breakdown

    According to data, there is no Taiyo Robotics NFT selling until March 22 when the users start to buy Taiyo NFT from Solport. However, the trend does not seems much different in terms of the number of buyers where it is only 3-4 Taiyo buyers on average.     Summary

    The Solport NFT market is a new entry for the users who want to trade NFT. Compared with the famous NFT marketplace like Magic Eden, the goal of Solport is still far away according to the results above as the people know Magic Eden for a long time. Besides, if we look into one of the use cases "Taiyo Robotics" we can see that the statistics of users buying this NFT are not much different since there is the first trade on Solport. However, if Solport wants to compete with Magic Eden, they surely have to either press on more marketing or point out the advantage why people have to use Solport over Magic Eden.
