    • One thing important to consider is that the term bridge is loosely applied, considering that Squid is not technically a bridge, is a crosschain/swap aggregator. While it might sound complex, the next diagram makes it clearer.

    Axelar's crosschain enabled tools

Axelar enables crosschain communication, facilitating seamless crosschain capabilitys, providing both bridges and liquidity across multiple ecosystems with top notch functionality.

And both work so well it might be easy to confuse both of them as the same powerful tools. But there is a key difference between both of them.

In case of Satellite, it is exactly what we web3 users understand for a bridge. But Squid, is an entire different concept.

Squid works by esentiallyt facilitating crosschain swaps, if you want to take an asset from say, Ethereum to Cosmos, Squid provides an aggregator function for your assets to be traded in a few selected DEXS in Ethereum, and then relaying the resulting swap to your desired address through the DEXs executing it in Cosmos.

Due to this, this dashboard will explore both capabilitys as separate entitys, considering that they are not technically the same. Even if for the user they might feel like it.
