Intro
Osmosis from the Cosmos ecosystem, is a Automated Market Maker (AMM) Decentralized Exchange (DEX).
Adeptly built to facilitate liquidation thorough the Cosmos Ecosystem, it surely felt repercussions after the whole Terra collapse.
Task
Since the beginning of May, answer the following questions:
- What are the top ten most popular contracts on Osmosis?
- What is the cumulative total of contracts launched on Osmosis
- Have there been any spikes since the Terra crash or other noteworthy events?
As a starting point
Pools will be taken as contracts, giving that each one represent one being used. Lets remember that is an AMM. So, some of its contracts are swapping contracts.
We can see that during Terra’s UST depegging, osmosis activity was spiking. Specifically on the pools [561], [565], [560], and [1].
For all activity to fall down after Terra’s collapse.
During these whole time tho, pool [1] kept a constant baseline activity, which did take a hit on June, 8 halting, but it came to work soon after.
After the halting, pools, [722] and [678] kept activity close to that of pool [1].
And what about new pools?
Well, after terra went bust, not many.
There are a few peaking even at the end of Terra`s fall.
But since then, numbers of pools appearing on Osmosis are dwindling.
Since June, only 64 new pools have appeared.
Actually
If we pay attention to the curve of the cumulative new pools on the right, we can see that after June, the growth of new contracts seriously slowed down.
But
And perhaps a not so little but, is that even activity on those pools diminished greatly, they didn’t just disappeared , as we can see, the Total distinct pools per day, is not technically falling down, the nnew pools that arrived are being actually used. While they might not be so hot, they are far from frozen
