Pros of SOL
Why should developers build on Solana compared to other L1 chains? What features for developers does Solana offer that make it appealing?
-
Lets compare Solana in terms of:
- Transaction speed/throughput --
- User growth and activity --
- Cost/fees per user --
- Growth in defi and nfts compare to at least two other chains. --
-
How are popular projects on Solana able to scale compared to top projects on other chains (for example a gaming app like StepN or a popular dex like Orca).
-
How do you envision user growth of apps on Solana over time? What types of products seem to be positioned particularly well on Solana?
-
The amount of transactions processed by Solana is far higher than Ethereum and Algorand.
-
Though Ethereum is particularly known for its low transaction speed, but, there are layer 2 solutions with superior tps.
-
Algorand usually doubles Ethereum's tps. Still, not even close to Solana's.
-
Onboarding users are far higher in Solana than Ethereum and Algorand.
-
While none have stopped growing, Solana is far ahead.
-
Ethereum does have a bigger NFT minted pool, followed by Solana by a long stretch, finally Algorand does have the lower amount.
-
Making ethereum still the predilect chain of choice...or is it?
Considerations
-
A better understanding of the growth in nft minted would be in addition to total value in them, because nft minted by sheer numbers is not a really good metric. Considerate with caution.
-
Another point is that Defi was calculated using nº of interactions, so while reflects use frequency it doesnt represent the volume in USD. Only adoption (and bots)
-
User activity is far higher in Solana than Ethereum and Algorand.
-
Is worth noting that around the crash on May, 8th. Algorand users activity nearly reached Ethereum's.
-
Since April Solana average transaction activity is far above from Ethereum's and Algorand's.
-
Though worth noting that Algorand is getting closer to Ethereum Average transaction activity.
-
While Solana fees are really low, this chart shows fees in their native coin. Meaning they are not converted to USD.
-
Is still clear that Ethereum fees are the most expensive while Solana is the cheapest.
-
In the defi world, accounted in activitys executed, Solana's is by far the highest. Low fees and high speeds make it the preference to high activity trading.
-
Followed by Ethereum and Algorand next, not by much though.
- I was gonna talk about solana having room to group both in defi and nft scene, and just when i was writing this i stumbled upon this
Solana is definetly the future choice
