There has been 128 NFT collections transacted in Quixotic. For a number of 5710 NFT Merchants. All that coming from a universe of 331k wallets transacting on Optimism.

There is a clear preference for Eth, in the last month and a half there has been 18.9k sales in ETH and only 151 in OP.

As expected, the volume of OP tokens is far higher than ETH just by sheer price difference.

In total

All this sales have moved 4.45 millions worth in USD. Coming from 4.19 millions coming from OP and 266k in USD. ==Surprisingly, despite how high is the preference for ETH, the USD value accrued in OP is far higher==.

Its really important to consider how limited the data is.

Closing remarks

• Quixotic while not exploding in activity, remains a viable option for people in Optimism to get their NFTs supply.
• In the last two ish months there has been a clear preference to low volume payments in ETH.
• The most traded collections is not the most value one.
• The most valued collections would be those that are too in another forms in L1.
  • Those being punks, bored, and ape.

Quixotic is the biggest NFT marketplace available in Optimism.

And being the biggest only invites us to take a peek inside of it.

• Create a secondary market dashboard for NFT sales on Quixotic, the largest NFT marketplace on Optimism.

Method

The data for this analysis came mostly from Flipside’s data.

• optimism.core.ez_nft_sales to find overall nft sales

• optimism.core.dim_labels to name most of the collections, those that didnt appear were manually inputted using Quixotic marketplace as a collection verifier.

• optimism.core.fact_hourly_token_prices to find OPs price.

• ethereum.core.fact_hourly_token_prices to find ETHs price through the price for WETH inside Ethereum’s chain given that the tables for ETH in Optimism are not ready yet.

Note that there was a hack to Quixotic Marketplace some time ago, that is the reason for a few addresses being blacklisted in the sqls. Read More (The english is kinda broken but it breaks down well what did happen in the smart contracts interaction and the fulfilling of sell orders).

Daily sales activity

The sales data begins at June 15 around 18,00. So, it would be wise to consider the first day in sales from June 16.

Activity had maintained a slow decrease previous to the Optimistic Explorer, a free NFT collection to the explorers of the Optimism ecosystem.

Since its minting, sales activity have bumped notoriously, quickly making it the most sold collection in Quixotic.
