Snapshot is a gasless multi-governance off chain voting system.
Users can place their votes using ERC20 tokens or NFTs without worrying about gas fees.
Currently Snapshot supports 6290 protocols.
Quick Overview
Currently Snapshot has processed around 52.2k proposals involving 952k voters in the 6290 protocols that participate with Snapshot system.
In average a proposal gets 107 voters in it.
But this is highly skewed by the nature of this measures as we are about to see in the next section. Meaning that many of the protocols in Snapshot had have only one voter.

Proposals per protocol
Up until today, there is 2501 protocols that had only one proposal ran through Snapshot.
And 2903 protocols had up to only 10 proposals.
Making it the vastly majority of the protocols participating in Snapshot.
781 protocols make from 10 to 100 proposals.
And those who make more than 100 proposals are a real minority with 69 protocols.
And only 3 protocols have made more than a thousand proposals.
Those being:
1.- Pancake with 1979 proposals.
2.- Snapshot.dcl.eth with 1294 proposals.
3.- Cake.eth with 1109 proposals.
And by voters
Well, at least 1044 protocols had have only one voter participating in their proposals.
Followed by 1893 protocols having less than 10 people in their proposals.
And 1883 ranging from 10 to 100 people in their proposals, meaning most of the decisions going thru Snapshot are being taken by less than 100 voters.
Following with 1242 protocols racking more than 100 voters in their proposals.
Finally 224 protocols have more than one thousand people involved in those protocols decisions.

Top proposals by participation
Right off, the fourteen proposals that Arbitrum Odyssey have lifted are in the top 20 most participated proposals. Making it the most highly governed protocol that have participated in Snapshot.
Ens DAO in the other hand, only lifted one proposal but this one being a really relevant one, it was their Constitution Ratification, gathering 84k voters.
Making it the top involved proposal in the Snapshot space.
And from the other five, two make decisions and three two are surveys and the other is only a news notice.

Top 20 Protocols by voters
From these projects with the most voters participating, almost every protocol is DeFi focused except for ENS, that while not being DeFi related, does create dominions that in total end up being sold by lots of money.
Making the governance for DeFi related protocols the ones that gather the highest amount of participants in their proposals.
Top 20 Protocols by proposals
And from the protocols that account the highest numbers of proposals only two of them are not DeFi Related, those two being Snapshot itself and Aavegotchi, making Aavegotchi the first game related protocol in these governance tops.
One important thing to notice is that not every proposal is governance focused, as seen with the previous most voted proposals. From news to simpler petitions, every single one is being recorded and participated, but not every proposal lead to a governance result.
So
One sure takeaway from this would be to take Arbitrum’s governance as the most consistently involved protocol in Snapshot.
And that ENS Dao constitution was really taken seriously.
