All the data came from Flipside’s data repository

• solana.core.fact_proposal_votes table was used for most of the analysis.

  
  All the charting was straightforward with some work behind looking for the right program, the interesting not that automatically bit came from looking at the creation date, and that was made in collab with popex404

Metaplex will be accounted twice, one for MetaplexGenesis and Metaplex Foundation

Quick overview

With 628 proposals between all 10 protocols, summoning 2530 distinct members these ten protocols, have gathered a total of 9.81k votes in their distinct governances initiatives.

Amount of members & Proposals

Without a doubt The Imperium of Rain has gathered the highest amount of members in their midst, some 1321 voters with only 20 proposals!

The imperium of rain has such a difference in members that the next in line, Grape, has only a third of its size, this being with 418 members across its 72 proposals.

The next being Solend with 222 members accumulated across its 4 proposals, worth considering giving that from this group, is the one with fewer amount of proposals, but is still the third most populated DAO by voters.

Continuing with Jet, with 194 members across its 10 proposals, the second smallest in proposal amounts.

Next for Mango with 180 members across its 200 proposals, the highest amount of proposals per DAO, they might be few but their are highly democratic.

Next with Psy Finance with 85 members across its 48 proposals.

Continuing with Serum with 63 members across 22 proposals.

Along with MonkeDAO with 25 members and 196 proposals. Being the second DAO with the highest amount of proposals, it comes as a surprise given the size of their governance members.

Following with Synthetify and their 19 members across 17 proposals, almost 1:1 ratio between members and proposals.

Reaching to Metaplex Foundation and Genesis, both with 3 members each with 39 proposals if counting both entitys.

Last proposal date

The DAO with the longest time from its last proposal is Synthetify in June 13.

Followed by Solend and Metaplex Genesis, both in June.

And from July is Jet along Serum.

The Imperium of Rain, Metaplex Foundation, Monkedao, Psy Finance, Synthetify all had recents proposals just in August.

With Grape being the most recent one with a proposal just this August 16.

Total Votes

Having the previous metrics in mind, when seeing the total votes in proposals we get another view.

Grape has accumulated 2712 voters in their governance initiatives, the highest amount of effective votes, while accounting for the second biggest member votes and only 72 proposals

Followed only by The Imperium of the Rain, while having the highest member participation it accumulated 2403 votes in its 20 proposals.

Mango on the other hand accumulates 1807 votes with its 200 proposals and 180 members, maintaining the previous comment as a highly participative DAO.

MonkeDAO continues being a surprise, with only 25 members they accumulate 1534 votes in its 196 proposals. Now, its only a surprise on first sight, given that its actually far less than it would be having all their members voted on each proposal. But still, a surprise.

Continuing with Jet, accumulating 536 votes across its 10 proposals, and 194 members.

Now with Solend with 335 votes in its 4 proposals and 222 members. It does come off as low.

Now for Psy Finance accumulating 243 votes across its 48 proposals and 85 members.

Next its Serum, with 88 votes across its 22 proposals and 63 members.

Next for Metaplex foundation and Metaplex Genesis, accumulating barely more than 100 votes across its 39 proposals.

Finally with Synthetify with 42 votes in its 17 proposals and 19 members.

How to

This part was a little bit tricky, in fact, my first method, along with many others in the community was wrong. I planned to use the first registered vote assuming the creation of the Realm was surely close to its first registered vote. But discord user Pope#0590 (or popex404 in the app) found a more reliable way.

His method included a search for the earliest registered transactions in combination with the program_id when available or realm_id when not.

This when done one by one allowed to extract the transactions that gave born to these DAO Realms.

But there are at least three that were born before the earliest flipside’s available data. These being Mango, Serum and Metaplex.

Closing remarks

A few surprising participations come from:

• MonkeDAO, with low members amount and high proposals quantity, this group spits proposals as it breathes.
• Solend just appeared a two months ago and its participation seems quite active, in fact, just as it appeared its three proposals were in the highest acros this group.
• The Imperium of Rain, while racking the highest member participation count, owns its massive record to two particular proposals in May, after that, is far from having the same level of participation.
• Mango might not be the biggest DAO, but, their participation seems constant in the daily votes activity, in fact, most of their proposals hover mostly the same numbers except lately.

And since March, we got Synthetify, Psy Finance.

In April there is Jet and The Imperium of Rain.

Finally Solend just in June a two months ago.
