NEAR Centralized Exchange(CEX) Flows

    Overview of analysis

Using the labels table create a dashboard that illustrates the inflows and outflows of assets from NEAR to CEX and vice-versa.

Look at items such as number of users and volume by CEX.

Another thing to look at is which CEXes bring in the most active users to the ecosystem?

Lastly what dApps in the ecosystem are users who onboarded funds from CEXes are using?

In this dashboard, the transfer of assets between the NEAR network and centralized exchanges has been investigated.

To track the asset flow between CEXs and the NEAR network, this dashboard is divided into the following parts:

    • General view related to the inflow/outflow to CEXs
    • Breakdown by CEXs
    • Users and Whales
    • Sectors and Dapps
    Methodology
    About NEAR and CEXs

The NEAR blockchain is a decentralized platform that aims to provide a scalable and developer-friendly environment for building decentralized applications (dApps). It uses a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism and sharding technology to achieve high throughput and low transaction fees.

NEAR is designed to be easy to use for developers, with a focus on providing tools and infrastructure that make it simple to build and deploy dApps. It also offers features like smart contracts, tokenization, and cross-chain interoperability to enable a wide range of use cases.

Centralized exchanges (CEX) are platforms that allow users to trade cryptocurrencies and other digital assets. These exchanges are important because they provide liquidity to the market, allowing users to buy and sell assets quickly and easily. In addition, CEXs often offer advanced trading features, such as margin trading and order books, which can be useful for experienced traders.

However, there are also some drawbacks to using centralized exchanges. One of the biggest concerns is security, as these exchanges are often targeted by hackers due to the large amounts of funds they hold. In addition, CEXs are often subject to government regulations and can restrict access to certain users or regions.

Overall, both centralized and decentralized exchanges play an important role in the cryptocurrency ecosystem. While CEXs provide liquidity and advanced trading features, DEXs offer greater security and privacy. As the industry continues to evolve, it is likely that both types of exchanges will continue to coexist and serve the different needs of different users.

The data provided by Flipside has been used to handle this analysis.

    • In this investigation, first of all, the centralized exchanges (CEXs) on the NEAR network are identified based on the labels:
    SELECT * from near.core.dim_address_labels where label_type='cex'

    • The inflow and outflow of assets into the CEXs from the NEAR network have been calculated.
    • The domination of CEXs on the NEAR network has been determined based on the volume, users, and attraction of new users.
    • The participation of Whales in the asset flow between NEAR and CEXs has been evaluated and also, and the leaderboard of the selected time frame has been estimated.
    • The application of the assets by the users who received from CEXs has been calculated based on the popular sectors and Dapps.

NOTE: The reader can log into the Flipside website and set the time basis and period of investigation to find out the asset transfer between NEAR blockchain and CEXs over various time frames.
