Flipside has recently unveiled a new tool for monitoring developer activities on Near Github. In light of this development, I employed the use of this tool to delve into the data, seeking valuable insights regarding developer activities within the Near chain.

The data within this tool is contingent on the most recent snapshot it has recorded, and it appears that updates to this data will occur on a weekly basis. Consequently, if you happen to refresh the charts and discover that the results remain unchanged, you will need to await the next snapshot.

In this dashboard, you will discover the leading repositories, as determined by factors such as commits and forks, among others. Additionally, we have made an effort to identify the top developers in this context.

We'll begin by exploring the renowned Near repositories on GitHub. As anticipated, Nearcore stands out as the most favored repository among developers. Nearcore boasts an impressive 2.1K stars or watchers, distinguishing it significantly from other repositories. GitHub offers a feature that enables developers to star a repository, serving as a measure of a repository's popularity.

Forks are frequently utilized as a means to refine ideas or modifications prior to their submission to the original, or "upstream," repository. I've compiled a list of the leading repositories within the Near ecosystem, focusing on the quantity of forks.

Once again, Nearcore took the lead with an impressive 523 forks on Near GitHub. What's intriguing is that the NFT repository, with 278 forks, ranks higher in this regard than other popular repositories.

Branches provide a structured means to work on features, resolve issues, or experiment with novel concepts within a confined section of the repository. As you observe, the majority of repositories are located on the Main and Master branches. The distribution of repositories across various branches is visually represented in the chart below.

Within the donut chart, you'll find a breakdown of the programming languages employed in each repository. Notably, JavaScript contributes to approximately 30% of the total repositories, followed closely by TypeScript at 28%, and Rust at 20%. These three programming languages have emerged as the most prevalent choices within the Near project.

Subscribers are akin to followers on social platforms. Developers who subscribe to a repository can receive updates about the latest changes in their feeds. In terms of the number of subscribers, Near-Protocol-contracts lead the pack with 86 subscribers. Following closely behind are Nearcore and Near-Protocol-adapter.

The chart below displays the creation dates of repositories. By examining this data, we can observe that the most significant activity occurred between January and July 2022. During the peak period, approximately 20 new repositories were established in a single day. In total, since January 2022, Near developers have created around 2,000 repositories.

We can categorize these repositories as the most active ones within the Near project. The chart below illustrates the leading repositories ranked by the number of open issues. As evident, Near Core claims the top position with 773 open issues, followed closely by issues associated with Near Wallet, which has 248 open issues and secures the second spot.

    Licensable Repositories

A software license tells others what they can and can't do with the source code. In the below table, You can see the list of Licensable repositories on Near project.
