Question

Create a dashboard displaying Solana network performance over time.

How has the network performed over the past month compared to the rest of the year? Has transaction per second and success rates of transactions gone up recently? Is this because of less botting or fewer users, or new improvements from the Solana engineers? What wallets and programs have paid the most in fees for failed transactions?

Method

I will be using solana.core.fact_transactions tables of Flipside Crypto to answer the above questions and find out Solana network performance over the past month and compared to the rest of the year.

Firstly, let's see the transactions number of solana with cumulative line of them over this year.

The graph illustrates everyday activity from solana users.

Around 30M succeed interactions have occurred on solana over the past month which is increased

compared to May and June.

Below graph depict the number of unique wallets on solana over this year.

Despite the increasing on solana transactions seems unique wallets are getting lower everyday

Solana failed to achieve new unique wallets during the past month.

Daily TPS of solana hit lower numbers everyday during Jan to April, after that TPS were caught between average number of 150 to 300 for a month.

After May TPS on solana started to grow a little but major increased happened over the past month.

For now average amount of TPS on solana is around 400

Two above graphs depict the percentage and number of success and failed rate of transactions on solana over 2022.

Success rate of transactions got decreased from March to May.

On May 10, success and failed rate of transactions was 50-50 which was a horrible rate for a blockchain.

After this day Solana got improved slowly and over the past month more than 70% of solana transactions are succeed.

The above graphs depict the top programs that have been paid most fees for failed transactions.

Pyth Oracle paid more than 3K sol for failed transactions until June.

Over the last month ,this program again paid the highest amount of fees over failed transactions on solana.

second top program with most paid fees was Serum Dex.

These are the wallet addresses which paid the most fees for failed transactions on two time periods.

When I looked for the top wallets since the beginning of 2022, CuieVDEDtLo7FypA9SbLM9saXFdb1dsshEkyErMqkRQq this address by amount of 634 sol is the most paid fees.

Conclusion

Solana performance between Jan to March was acceptable but had a downtrend over this months , On April and May solana had a awuful performance on TPS, Transactions number, success rate of transactions that all led to more failed transactions and more fees. Only unique addresses was increasing during this time.

Over the past month, Solana network performed a much better results on TPS, transactions number and success rate during past month only number of unique addresses get down which seems has a negative correlation by all other variables.
