    Total Stats

    db_img

The aim of this dashboard is to find out if certain Ethereum miners prefer mining blocks with lower or higher transactions.

    Blocks By Transactions

    • When a block has more transactions or sizes, it includes more Gas, so more reward for Miners.

    Miners - Limited Blocks

Following tables show percentage of miners that only mined blocks with specific transactions count:

    Loading...
    • There are more than 1.6 million blocks with 0 transaction.
    • 31.1% of blocks had 101-200 transactions.

    Miners and Blocks

    Top Miners

    • More than 55% of Miners mined at least one block with 0 transaction while less than 7% of miners mined blocks with more than 300 transactions.

The following chart shows percentage of miners that mined blocks with specific categorized transactions count and also percentage of blocks in that category.

    • All top 20 miners had mined blocks with less than 300 transactions but 90% of them had mined blocks with 301-500 transactions, 60% of them had mined blocks with 500-800 transactions and 50% of them had mined blocks with more than 800 transactions.
    • 90% of Miners had mined only blocks with less than 250 transactions so 10% of miners had mined only blocks with more than 250 transactions.
    • 82% of Miners had mined only blocks with less than 150 transactions.
    • 0.04% of Miners had mined only blocks with More than 400 transactions.

    Methodology

    • All data in this dashboard were extracted from ethereum.core.fact_blocks table.
    • Transaction counts in blocks were categorized into:
      • 0 TX
      • 1 TX Between
      • 2-5 TXNS Between
      • 6-10 TXNS Between
      • 11-20 TXNS Between
      • 21-50 TXNS Between
      • 51-100 TXNS Between
      • 101-200 TXNS Between
      • 201-300 TXNS Between
      • 301-500 TXNS Between
      • 501-800 TXNS
      • More than 800 TXNS

    Conclusion

    • Most Miners tend to mine blocks with fewer transactions count.
    • 82% of Miners had mined only blocks with less than 150 transactions.
    • Less than 10% of miners had mined only blocks with more than 250 transactions.
    • The reason behind this could be because of the processing power of miners. miners with higher processing power are more likely to mine blocks with more transactions faster than others successfully.
    • The number of miners with higher processing power is less than miners with lower processing power, So this conclusion is plausible.
