SuperFluid Validating
Introductions
What is Osmosis?
a protocol, which means it uses smart contracts to determine the price of digital assets, to produce liquidity via a peer-to-peer (P2P) methodology, and to exact trades between users. This approach to an exchange platform is known as an AMM a DEX protocol that prices crypto assets in liquidity pools, it was launched in late 2021 and its native token is OSMO.
What is slashing?
slashing is a penalty for a validator's intentional malicious behavior, such as creating invalid transactions. When a validator is slashed, all token holders who have delegated assets to that validator lose a portion of their delegated tokens.
What is staking?
Staking is a way to use your crypto holdings or coins to earn additional rewards. It can be helpful to think of it as along the lines of generating interest on cash savings, or earning dividends on stock holdings.

What is required from this analysis?
There are 16 SuperFluid Staking pools currently available on Osmosis (1, 678, 704, 712, 674, 722, 9, 604, 497, 812, 584, 3, 481, 42, 463, 15). What impact would a slashing event have on the OSMO liquidity of these pools?
Analyze the distribution of superfluid-staked OSMO across these pools. Which validators have the most SFS OSMO in total, and per pool?
- SuperFluid Staking pools overall received more than volume USD compared to the volume leaving the pools 1.7B vs 1.2B USD leaving the pools with total of 529M USD positive net volume.
- Pool #1 as one of the oldest SuperFluid Validating pool had the largest volume deposited(1B USD) and withdrawn from it(730M USD) leaving it with the largest net volume among other pool consisting 60%, 323M liquidity available on the pools. pools 678 and 497 were second most popular SuperFluid Validating pool in terms of deposit/withdrawn and net volume.
- With 710K transactions pool #1 consists 36% of the transactions among all of the SuperFluid Validating pools followed by pool #604, 264K 13% and pool #497 with 257K transactions accumulated.
- Sep 27 2021 recorded the most volume of OSMO deposited the the SuperFluid Validating pools with pool #9 consisting 334M received OSMO out of the 400M deposited, after that deposited volume on SuperFluid Validating pools dropped significantly. Most of the volume withdrawn from SuperFluid Validating pools was on Nov15 2021 with around 400M OSMO being withdrawn from it and pool #9 consisting 377M of the withdraws. overall pool #9 had the most deposited and withdrawn OSMO volume among SuperFluid Validating pools.
- Sep27 2021 with 77M USD recorded as the pools net volume 74.9M belonging to pool #1 followed by 35M pool #497 had the largest net volume on the SuperFluid Validating pools after that net volume decreased till early 2022 but after May 2022 most of the previously positive net flow started to lean toward negative amount.
- 2021 had mostly the same daily transactions on SuperFluid Validating pools but it gradually increased after 2022 peaking to around 67K transactions on Feb28 while 43K belonged to pool#1 followed by pool 604 and 497 with 14K and 11K transactions respectively. in second half of 2022 which saw an overall decrease to number of transactions on the pools, pool #722 started to eat into other pools share of daily transactions.

Methodology
The needed data regarding SuperFluid Validating pools on Osmosis was extracted via mainly using the table osmosis.core.fact_superfluid_staking
and was filtered by the =>OSMO SuperFluid Validating pools mentioned above, all of these tables were provided by Flipsidecrypto database and to make these raw extracted data more comprehensible all types of proper charts and graphs were utilized.
Conclusion
- Overall SuperFluid Validating pools accumulated a net flow volume of 529M USD after 1.7B deposits and 1.19B withdraws from the pools and pool #1 had in general more interactions among other pools, pools 497, 604 and 678 could be named as other important and popular pools flow and transaction wise.
- Most of the volume deposited and withdrawn on SuperFluid Validating pools were in 2021 after that the volume interacting with the pools strated to decline and overall pool #9 had the most OSMO withdrawn and deposited to it.
- Before Q1 2022 SuperFluid Validating pools had mostly positive net volume USD but after it net flow on the pools started to balance out and leaning slightly more toward negative net flow.
- First 4 months of 2022 had overall highest amounts of transactions and interactions on SuperFluid Validating pools with around half of them belonging to pool #1 after that number of transactions on the pools decline and pool 722 was the only pool which saw some growth in the the late Q1 2022 time period.
- Cosmostation with volume of 89M OSMO was the validator with the most staked volume followed by Shapeshift.DAO, 54M and AUDIT.one with 43M OSMO. Pool #1 had the largest staked validator OSMO by far and Cosmostation, Shapeshift.DAO and AUDIT.one provided most of these volume but there is not a single validator to be the main validator across the pools instead seems that most of the pools have their main validator or validators providing OSMO.
Thank you for your time!
- With 66M OSMO Cosmostation is the top validator on pool #1 followed by Shapeshift DAO with 47M as validator volume, pool #1 overall received the most volume from validators followed by pool #678 and #604 with Audit. One and Shapeshift DAO being the main validators respectively.
- Overall most of the volume on SuperFluid Validating pools, 89M OSMO was by Cosmostation followed by 54M Shapeshift DAO and AUDIT.One with 43M OSMO,
