Terra.SCV.Ready

Q167. Keeping Terra data and data products up to speed is a full time job.

    Introduction:

In this research, we want to talk about the problems related to the answers obtained and their judgment. This research consists of two main parts, which include pointing out the basic points in relation to judging the questions of the Terra collection, as well as proposing a solution to improve the performance of the blockchain Terra community and Flipside platform.

As mentioned in the question, the following problems are stated in relation to this research. Now we want to add some items.

Here’s a short list of the issues involved:

1- Paying maintenance costs (in both time and money)

    2- Query refreshes

    3- Broken functionality (something breaks)

4- Outdated content (could be as simple as refreshing queries or as involved as the ecosystem changing, rendering past analyses outdated)

5- Wrong logical analysis (improper SQL, errors in analysis, reaches the wrong conclusion, lacks expertise)

6- Needs hotfixes (i.e. a change like the LFG announcing a new distribution) Data problems (an issue with Flipside data not flowing properly)

    Provide insights:

    • In my opinion, in some of the questions, the amount of the prize considered does not match the workload related to the question. Because in some questions, a lot of work is considered and extensive research has to be done, while in the questions section, for example, it is easy. This can confuse the user or the data analyst.

    • Problems related to the site and the infrastructure of Flipsidecrypro collection are also factors that cause annoyance to users.

    • One of the main discussions in the Discord groups related to the bounties is the set of how to claim them. I have to mention that a number of users claim some of the questions on Friday and keep it until the end of the deadline without any action and release them in the last hours. This deprives users who really have the ability to solve questions.

    • One of the other things I want to mention here is the judging score for the submitted questions. Users like to know the points earned for their research to provide more complete research and collections in the future.

    Recommendations to improve:

My suggested solutions for the cases mentioned in the previous section are as follows:

1- Review the questions before placing them on the site in order to determine the exact level of the question or to provide additional explanations related to the question provided to create more transparency regarding the workload of the questions.

2- Improve the necessary infrastructure for the Flipside website to prevent problems related to the loss of climates or the failure of the coding website

3- Considering a penalty on users who claim a bounty but do not provide the required answer. The incentive method can also be used so that users who have a higher level and average score have more claims.

4- Provide judging points in a section of a site in order to clarify the mistakes made by users and try to improve them in order to provide more complete reports
