• However, the enthusiasm cool down coming to month of July to September 2022.

• Coming to month of November 2022, a huge surge of users to Osmosis chain.

• ATOM is the most favorable token transferring to Osmosis chain for all time .

• The tokens inflow trend is pretty similar as the users shown in above.

• Started getting exposure in early months of Year 2022.

• A slow down during July and September 2022.

• Then a surge on November 2022.

• ATOM, EVMOS, STARS, OSMO, HUAHUA, SCRT, MNTL and CRO have been the major contributors in the November influx.

• General trend is similar as what we observe in the analysis above.

• However, we found that ATOM has surpassed other tokens in huge gap.

• It is pretty obvious when we look at the overall donut chart and the cumulative chart.

• ATOM has reached up above 14k users on their First IBC transfer to Osmosis.

• While the 1st runner up : EVMOS only around 5.5k following by STARS around 3.3k only.

• However, the trend is suffering a decline over the time.

• Staking and Transfer has gaining more users among the First Action lately.

Methodology

In this dashboard, I’ve analyze the trend entering Osmosis for the First Time and where are them from? Besides, also track those who leaving Osmosis after the participate on Osmosis.

In order to obtain the data, I have used several tables :

osmosis.core.fact_transfers , osmosis.core.fact_swaps , osmosis.core.dim_prices, osmosis.core.fact_staking , osmosis.core.fact_transactions , osmosis.core.fact_liquidity_provider_actions and etc.

• sender (represent users)

Osmosis

Osmosis is an advanced automated market maker (AMM) protocol that allows developers to build customized AMMs with sovereign liquidity pools. Built using the Cosmos SDK, Osmosis utilizes Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) to enable cross-chain transactions.

As liquidity pools is the major element on Osmosis, this dashboard is going to look at the trend on the amount of new contracts added to Osmosis in May 2022.

What is Cosmos?

Cosmos (ATOM) is a cryptocurrency that powers an ecosystem of blockchains designed to scale and interoperate with each other. The team aims to "create an Internet of Blockchains, a network of blockchains able to communicate with each other in a decentralized way." Cosmos is a proof-of-stake chain.

What is IBC?

The Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol allows different blockchain networks to communicate. IBC was the final part in the development of the three major components of the Cosmos technology to be released. The other two components being the Tendermint Core and the Cosmos SDK (software development kit).

🔍 | Findings

• For the users who did LP on their first action, majority of them has chosen pool 1 as their choice to provide liquidity. Pool 1 : ATOM/OSMO.

• A market share percentage of 74.2%.

• Next is Pool 497 : JUNO/OSMO, with a percentage of 4.69%.

• The third is Pool 562 : LUNC/USTC, with a percentage of 2.9%.

• Among those who involve in swap activity for the First Action entered Osmosis, there are 203k of them transferred their swapped token out to other chains. With a percentage of 63.64%.
• There are charts above showing each chains users’ transferred their swapped to tokens
• COSMOS is picked to be the most favorable destination chains for their swapped to tokens.
• While JUNO coming close as well.
• The rest are SECRET, EVMOS, TERRA and STARS. Within the market share percentage below 7% and above 5%.
• I found that majority of the tokens transferred out are the main token of the chain, such as : ATOM to COSMOS chain, EVMOS to EVMOS chain and SCRT to SECRET chain.

• A decrease in the amount of users swapped tokens over the time.

• Early days, most of the users swapped their tokens to OSMO.

• A huge market share is contributed by OSMO tokens.

• While the next favorable token is ATOM.

  🥈 : ATOM (9.65%)

• Swap has the total amount of 289k users on their First Action transaction.
• Secondly, Staking has a total of 81k users.
• While the following action is transfer with an amount of 50k users.
• Lastly, is liquidity providing with total of 34k.

Summary

1. Year 2022, has been bouncy for Osmosis in terms of users’ First Action. Started getting exposure in early months 2022. Then a cool down during July to September 2022. Lastly, a surge in November 2022.
2. Swap has been the most favorable action but suffering a gradual decline over time.
3. ATOM, EVMOS and STARS the top inflow tokens.
4. OSMO, ATOM and JUNO the top outflow tokens.
5. COSMOS, JUNO SECRET and EVMOS the most interacted chains.
