    Introduction

    Hop is a platform for cross chains bridges. Wallets using Hop protocol are able to swap tokens from a chain to another chain. Hop has recently offered bridging tokens to Ethereum layer 2.

    This dashboard quantifies the daily number of assets that has been bridged through Hop to layer 2.

    As the data shows as of the time of writing in total 54,5K unique users have bridged to L2s using Hop.

    Breaking down the data into assets we can see the most popular asset to bridge in terms of number of unique users is ETH.

    The graph below shows the number of unique users who have bridged assets to L2 per asset.

    The graph below shows the daily number of unique wallets who have bridged ETH-->L2 and number of bridges on Hop.

    We can see a big spike on June 1st. Also three spikes are identifiable between 20th April and 4th May.

    Looking into amount of assets bridged to L2 we can see two major spikes:

    • 1st June 2022

    First June marks the launch of OP and its airdropping. This led many to bridge asset to Optimism.

    • 24th February 2022

    Notable findings

    The data shows that so far 54700 users have used hop for bridging Ethereum to L2.

    The most popular wallet to be sent to L2 is Ethereum and the most popular stablecoin is USDC.

    The daily amount and number of bridges to L2 spiked on June 1st when Optimism announced the launch of OP.
