    Both platform fee (service) and creator fee (commission) are important factors for creators and users to choose a platform for minting or trading an NFT.

    Platform fee is a cost that is defined for minting an NFT or for every transactions.

    Creator fee is a cost that should be paid to creator for any NFT purchase.

    This dashboard focuses on these two parameters and compares Foundation with another marketplace with this regard.

    Method

    For the comparison analysis Rarible has been selected.

    Rarible is a decentralized NFT marketplace similar to Foundation. It was launched in 2020 and have a monthly about 10000 users.

    Rarible is a DAO governed marketplace with $RARI governance token.

    Analysis

    The graph below shows the daily average of creator fee and platform fee on Foundation.

    We can see that there is 10% creator fee and 5% platform fee for any transactions. This has not been changed over time (except two days exceptions).

    The graph below shows the average platform fee for all NFT transactions on Foundation and Rarible since three months ago.

    As can be seen the platform fee in Foundation is higher than the platform fee in Rarible.

    The barchart below shows the average creator fee of all sales on Foundation vs Rarible.

    We can see that the fixed creator fee on Foundation worked and all sales make a 10% profit for the creator.

    In Rarible the creator fee is varied. The average as the data shows is more than 10%.

    Conclusion

    This dashboard compares Foundation with Rarible in terms of creator fee as well as platform fee.

    We saw that in average the royalty fee is the same in the two platforms. However, the platform fee in Foundation is higher than Rarible.
