Jupiter and Orca are dexes on the Solana blockchain which are competitors in offering the range of tokens for swap.

This dashboard compares these two protocols in terms of popular pairs of Sol swaps, daily number of total swaps and success rate.

Analysis

Graphs below compare the 5 most popular swaps SOL -> coin swaps (SOL swapped for another coin) on Orca and on Jupiter since January 1st.

As can be seen the number of successful swaps on Jupiter is more than Orca.

The most popular pair for SOL in both platforms is USDC. In top 5 tokens being swapped by SOL in both Orca and Jupiter three tokens, USDC, wrapped Sol and Usdt are common. The difference is between mSol and UST in Jupiter and gst and step in Orca.

The graph below shows the total volume per day on Orca and Jupiter since January 1st for SOL to another coin swaps.

As can be seen the daily successful swap for Jupiter is more than Orca in almost all days.

However, the data show that this difference is decreasing particularly in the last couple of weeks.

As can be seen ORCA has performed significantly more effective than Jupiter since the second week of January 2022.

The success rate of swaps on Jupiter has been declined since mid of January and is currently absolutely low (around 10%).

• Jupiter is a more stablished dex on Solana blockchain.

• The popular pairs tokens for Sol on Jupiter are stablecoins, mSOL and wSOL, however, on Orca in addition to stablecoins two coins with utility are among most popular sol's pair token.

• The daily number of Orca's swap is growing, while the same metric for Jupiter remains constant for past month.

• The success rate of ORCA is hugely higher than of Jupiter.

In a nutshell, the historical data since January 1st shows that ORCA is a healthier platform than Jupiter. The success rate in Jupiter is declining that gives an opportunity to ORCA to attract more users and more swaps.
