    Introduction

Osmosis is a decentralized peer-to-peer blockchain using the Cosmos SDK. OSMOSIS, as an advanced AMM protocol, allow users to deposit diverse set of tokens including wETH.

This dashboard investigates the deposit rate of wETH over time on Osmosis and compares it to SushiSwap and Thorchain.

    Method and definitions

There are two types of wETH on Osmosis, wETH from the Gravity Bridge (gwETH) and WETH from the Axelier Bridge (axlWETH).

    Analysis

    OSMOSIS

The graph below shows the amount of wETH deposited into OSMOSIS over time. We can see that while some small amount of wETH deposited in February 2022, it hasn't sully started till May.

Looking into number of deposits we can see that a good number of deposit in mid May has turned to a declining trend since May 21st.

    THORChain

The graph below shows the amount of deposits and withdrawals on THORChain over time.

We can see the peak of adding ETH on Jan 12 2022 which is about 7M USD valued ETH.

The graph below shows how the popularity of depositing ETH into THORChain has changed over time.

We can see a significant decrease in the number of adding liquidity since April 12th.

The graph below shows the amount of wETH deposited into Sushi on Ethereum. It can be seen that Sushi experienced a true rapid growth with about 2M ETH deposit in the first week of its launch.

    Early stages

The graph below shows the growth of ETH amount deposited in the early stages on the three platforms.

We can see that the initial slope of amount of ETH deposited into OSMOSIS indicates a rapid growth. However, the amount is far less than sushiswap which had a rapid growth as well.

The THORChain growth was linear in the early stages.

The graph below shows how the number of wETH deposit on Sushiswap has changed over time. We can see that the number of wETH deposits has been decreased since October 2021.

    Conclusion

The data shows that OSMOSIS has a rapid growth in terms of number and amount of ETH deposits. However, the amount of deposits is little comparing to Sushiswap.

Note: Sushiswap is an example of the fastest growth of AMMs.
