What is Axelar ?

Axelar delivers secure cross-chain communication for Web3. 

Secure means Axelar is built on proof-of-stake, the battle-tested approach used by Ethereum, Cosmos, Avalanche, and more. 

Cross-chain communication means you can build a complete experience for your users that lets them interact with any asset, any application, on any chain with one click.

Axelar network offers the following advantages:

• For blockchain platform builders: Ability to easily plug-in their blockchains to all other blockchain ecosystems. Only a threshold account needs to be set up on the chain to plug into the network.

• For dapps builders: Application builders can host their Dapps anywhere, lock, unlock, transfer assets, and communicate with applications on any other chain via CTP API.

• For users: Users can interact with all applications across the ecosystem directly from their wallets.

What is Satellite ?

Satellite is a web application built on top of the Axelar Network.

It provides an easy to use interface which enables users to transfer their crypto assets from one chain to another.

Prerequisites to make asset transfers using Satellite

• Chrome desktop browser with the Keplr and MetaMask wallet extensions (quick note on this below).
• Funds to cover transaction fees generated in transferring assets from your source chain.
• For transferring assets from an EVM chain: A MetaMask wallet connected to the desired EVM chain with native tokens in that chain to cover transaction fees.
• For transferring assets from a Cosmos-based chain: Enough native tokens in that chain to cover transaction fees.
