Do Whales Have Diamond Hands?

Does the swap behavior of OSMO whales differ from everyday users? How does it differ? Create visuals showing what whales swap to and from compared to a normal Osmosis user.

    Description of work:

In this Bounties we want to analyze the behavior of whales and daily users to swap and find their differences. To do this, we do the following:

    • Find the list of Osmosis whales
    • Check the number of swaps of whales and daily users* per day
    • Check the volume of swaps From/To uosmo of whales and daily users
    • Check top assets that whales and daily users swap From/To

    Note:

    • We use the [osmosis.core] schema,[fact_staking] and [fact_swaps] tables
    • To find the list of whales, we use the [fact_staking] table and consider the list of users who have stacked at least 500k uosmo as whales.

According to the results, it is clear that:

    • No obvious difference can be found in the number of daily swaps of whales and daily users. But the number of daily swaps of ordinary users is increasing from the beginning of 2022, while such a pattern can not be found in whales.

According to the results, it is clear that:

    • Swap volume From uosmo to other currencies has the same pattern as volume To uosmo in both normal users and whales.
    • Interestingly, the number of swaps From uosmo is higher than the number of swaps To uosmo in normal users, and normal users are more likely to swap From uosmo to other currencies. But the number of swaps From uosmo is almost equal to the number of swaps To uosmo in whales

According to the results, it is clear that:

    • Whales swap more than From HUAHUA and CRBRUS
    • Whales mostly swap To ATOM, OSMO and JUNO
    • Normal users swap more than To/From OSMO, ATOM and USTC
    • Swap From/To OSMO in whales is almost equal
    • No swaps From JUNO are observed in whales
    • No swaps To HUAHUA are observed in whales
