ENS Claims vs Price
Visualizing the relationship between the price of ENS and the number of airdrops claimed. - December 15, 2021
I love scatter plots. It is a quick way to find out if there is an association between two variables. Variables are correlated when they show a pattern on a scatterplot.
The scatter plot above includes all data points since ENS first became available. The graph is hard to read. When looking at my dataset, I find thousands of ENS tokens claimed every hour on November 09, 2021 (launch day). This affects the y-axis of my graph.
Because of the frenzy of claims on launch day, it is hard to see a pattern on the scatter plot above. I create another plot this time using only the last three weeks of data.
The scatter plot is more information when removing the first two weeks of data.
In this post I plot the number of ENS airdrop claimed every hour against the price of ENS.
Claims for the ENS airdrop ranged from 0 to 5511 per hour. During the first few days after ENS became available, thousands of airdrops were claimed every hour.
So far the price of ENS has ranged from $22.66 to $80.93.
A correlation revealed itself in the last three weeks. There are more ENS claims when the price of ENS is higher.
