ASA Dex Degens

Q38. Let's look at DEX wallet behavior with the algorand.swaps table to get an idea of how many swaps wallets are being conducted and see how many ASAs wallets are trading. Chart the distribution of the number of swaps wallets have conducted in 2022(Count the number of swaps a wallet has performed create a distribution of these wallets). Chart the distribution of the number of ASAs a wallet has swapped for (Count the number of assets a wallet swapped for and create a distribution of the number of assets per wallet). Tips: Make sure the swap_from_amount is greater than 0 to make sure it is a swap and not a slippage transfer from a swap.

    Introduction

In this dashboard, we are gonna analyze the wallet behaviour on DEX thanks to algorand.swaps new table on Flispide Crypto. The main idea is to get an aidea about how many swaps wallets are beingconducted and see how many ASAs wallets are trading on it.

    Methodology

To do so, we will need to divide the task into 2 approaches.

For the first one, we will need to get the swapper variable inside the algorand.swaps table to get the different wallets and count the distinct number of swaps done by each of them and see the distribution regarding number of swaps. Then, to get a more accurate distribution, I have divided the swaps in groups depending on their number of wallets.

    • Testers: 1 or 2 swaps
    • Mini-swappers: 30-20 swaps
    • Swappers: 20-100 swaps
    • Active swappers: 100-1k swaps
    • Super-swappers: more than 1k swaps

For the second approach, we will need to do something similar but in this case, we need to compute the number of ASAs swapped for by each wallet. Then, I have divided the wallets by the number of ASAs swapped for.

    • Single ASA
    • 2-5 ASAs
    • 6-10 ASAs
    • 10-20 ASAs
    • More than 20 ASAs

For the first approach, we can see the results in these three graphs above. The first one shows the number of swaps with the total number of wallets that have made this number of swaps, while the second one shows the same but in groups. In this way, you can see a cleaner distribution of users and the number of swaps they make. Finally, the third one shows the percentage per group.

In the first graph we can see how most of them make only 1 swap, with more than 16k wallets. In addition, many of the others are concentrated in the zone of maximum 10 swaps. Looking at the second graph, we can see better how almost half of the wallets have made between 1 and 2 swaps, and quite a few of them between 3 and 20. Some between 20 and 100 and some more between 100 and 1k. In any case, it must be said that 146 have made more than 1k swaps, which is a lot, those that seem to be robots.

In the first graph we can see how most of them only swapped a single ASA, with almost 25k wallets. Looking at the second graph, we can see better how almost half of the wallets have the major of the wallets have used between 1 and 5 different ASAs. In fact, if we take a look at the percentage, it represents more than 80% of them. It is curious as well that more than 3.5% of the wallets have swapped for more than 20 different ASAs whcih is a lot.

    Conclusions

In this dashboard we have seen a new Algorand table inside Flispide Crypto, that let us know more information about Algorand swaps. We have seen as well which is the behaviour of Algoand wallets. To do so, 2 different approaches have been carried out: number of swaps per wallet and distinct ASAs swapped for per wallet. Different groups have been created to show the distribution of both. It has been determined that the major of wallets done few swaps and used few different ASAs to swapped for, but has also seen that there are a high number of wallets not only doing more than 1k swaps but also swapping with more than 20 different ASAs. Robots? Who knows!
