Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and $DOGE

What % of the swaps made this week involved $DOGE?

In this analysis, we will analyse the last integration in THORChain, Dogecoin. Since last Januray 17th, Thorhchain fully integrated the Dogecoin in its platform. Then, since those date, Thorchain users have been able to cross-chain liquidity between DOGE-RUNE and have been able to swap DOGE for other supported crypto assets as well as earn yield on their DOGE. So, DOGE are now able to be swapped by different assets available on Thorchain like BTC, ETH, BNB, etc.

In this post, we will analyze what happened during the first week of integration from January 17th till today. To do so, we will compute the following metrics:

    • Total Thorchain swaps within last week
    • Total swaps involving DOGE in Thorchain (both, to DOGE and from DOGE movements and total)
    • The corresponding percentage of DOGE swaps against the total platform swaps
    • Total swaps in DOGE.DOGE pool and its percentage of the global swaps
    • Total swaps from DOGE blockhain and its percentage

Analyzing the results, the number indicates that a total of 28.48k total swaps have been done in Thorchain platform. Among them, 504 involved to DOGE swaps and 481 from DOGE swaps, being 985 the total swaps that involved DOGE. Then, the percentage of swaps that involved DOGE was 3.46%.

Regarding DOGE.DOGE pool swaps, a total of 1053 swaps have been registered, representing a 3.72% of the total swaps.

Finally. a total of 527 swaps have been registered from DOGE blockchain, representing a 1.86% of the total swaps.

Then, as a conclusion, we can see how the percentage of swaps involving DOGE is around 3.5%. Taking into account that there are a lot of wallets that can be traded in Thorchain platform, we can say that there is a standard number and cannot be nested. However, we should do a further analysis to investigate about the users behaviour (if they are buying, or they are adding liquidity, etc...).
