Failed Transactions
What is the success rate of an ENS claimed transaction (i.e. how often have transactions not failed)? How much in fees have been lost in failed transactions attempting to claim the ENS airdrop?
In the table below, we can see the global results obtained for all the questions. However, I will let discuss each question in a separate answers.
First of all, we need to compute how many transactions have been done in total since the airdrop of ENS launch. As seen in the first number, the total number of transactions that have tried to claim the ENS airdrop since today is 105.4k. Now, we need to compute what of these transactions have not failed, so the status of the transactions should be "True", equivalent to "Success". The number is 93.9k in total, indicating that the rate of successful ENS claimed transactions is about 0.891, as shown in the third number. Finally, I have also compute the percentage of successful transactions which is the same as the rate but in terms of percentage, being it 89% approx.
To compute it, I have obtained firstly the total number of ENS claim transactions that have been failed. In this case, a total of 11.5k transactions have been failed, which is more than 10% of the total transactions! From all of these failed transactions, a total of more than 1.16M USD have been paid in terms of fees, being 101 USD the average cost of every unsuccessful transaction.
To conclude, we have seen that a lot of wallets have claimed the transactions, however, a lot of wallets have also failed to claim it, losing a lot of money. Since now, more than 1M of USD has been paid due to that.
