Flash Bounty: Art Gobblers
Overview
Art Gobblers is an “experimental decentralized art factory” created by Rick & Morty co-creator Justin Roiland and Web3 firm Paradigm.
The project aims to create “a self-sustaining ecosystem centered around creating and collecting the coolest art in the universe.”
GOO s an ERC20 Ethereum token emitted by Art Gobblers NFTs. Because Goo is needed to make new Blank Pages, Art Gobblers ultimately determine what art can be created in the ecosystem, and in that way serve as co-curators of a decentralized art gallery.
The tokenomics of Art Gobblers is complex, and anyone interested in delving into it should check out the whitepaper for exact details. But in short, the prices for Blank Pages and Gobblers will change over time using a “Variable Rate Gradual Dutch Auction,” which adjusts pricing based on the supply of Goo.
Methodology
The intention of this dashboard is to track the initial days of Art Globbers on the NFT network as well as to compare with any other relevant NFT collection previously laucnhed on Ethereum chain as well.
To do so, we are gonna see the following metrics:
- Number of mints and minters, hourly and total
- Number of sales, buyers/sellers and volume, hourly and total
- Average ETH price per NFT, floor price, and 7-hour MA
- GOO transfers and transferers evolution
- GOO swaps and swappers by direction
- GOO volume swapped in and out
After that, we will compare the activity with other NFT collections such as Foundation and Moonbirds, two top collections available on Ethereum chain.
Finally, we will see the activity change in the NFT ecosystem in general.
Art Globbers metrics
Moonbird mints and sales metrics
Looking at the GOO main metrics, we can see how the transfers has been increasing over time. So far, a total of 83 unique token transfers has been emitted involving 82 unique wallets.
The amount of GOO tokens swapped has increased over time, passing from less than 30 (in+out) to more than 100 right now. In general, there are more swaps from GOO than to GOO. The amount of users swapping from and to GOO seems to be similar over time. However, the difference in favour to from GOO was higher during the initial days.
Finally, the volume in and out has been similar as well, but during the last hours seems that there were more volume in than out.
Foundation mints and sales metrics
If we compare the number of mint and sales against other main collections like Foundation, we can see how in this case, the number of minted NFTs were lower during the first hours. The minting time seems to take longer time in this case.
The amount of sales seems to be higher because of it has been calculated for a long time than in the previous collection. We will need more time to see some difference against these two collections.
Comparison against other top collections
Art Globbers mints and sales
GOO token metrics
As we can see, in general terms all the activity were concentrated during the first hours after the minting date. Until now, a total of more than 1.8k has already minted a Art Gobbler NFT. Because of only one per user can be minted, the same number of NFTs have been minted so far.
The number of sales were also higher during the first hours. Even the high price of the NFT cost, it seems that there are several users that are still holding their NFT. A tota of 792 NFTs were sold so far. More users have sold their NFT than bought. It seems that some users are accumulating it. In terms of volume, somethign similar occurred, while during the first hour, more than 2.5k ETH were sold in NFT sales, now the average is below 250ETH, but its a huge number.
Finally, considering the NFT average price, we can see how it has been increasing since the inception, from around 13ETH to more than 20. The 7-h MA is still going up and seems that it has been converted in an exponential mode! Let’s see when the increase in the price stop. The floor price is also going up from near to 5 to above 16 ETH.
If we compare the number of mint and sales against Moonbirds collection, we can see how in this case, the number of minted NFTs were lower during the first hours. The minting time seems to take longer time in this case.
In general NFT activity terms, we can see how the Art Gobbler collection has generated an impact on the number of daily mints. In terms of minters and sales, the collection seems to not have any concrete effect. The metrics seems to be evolved as usual. Finally, in terms of volume, we can see how during the minting date, the sales volume in ETH reached the highest peak of the week, and then, we can corroborate that in terms of sales the collection has had an important effect.
