Introduction and methods

Friktion recently launched a new product offering, Volt #03 - a volatility yield strategy for stablecoins in crab markets. Friktion’s goal is to unlock volatility for portfolio management across all market cycles to generate sustainable and transparent yield for its users. With this new Volt#03 Crab Strategy, Friktion utilizes power perpetuals to generate sustainable yields with single sided stablecoin deposits that maximizes returns in rangebound markets as can be shown in the image below.

Crab Volt Strategy is meant to perform in sideways or 'crab' markets, collecting volatility yield on stablecoins utilising power perpetuals. With that stated, the Crab Volt is an excellent Volt to utilise since it generates long-term yields with single-sided stablecoin deposits and maximising profits in rangebound markets.

In this dashboard we are gonna track the deposit activity into the Crab Volt and we will see how many unique wallets have used the strategy since April 11th. Furthermore, we will determine which other Friktion Volts have these wallets used since March 1st. Finally, we will explore the crossover between the Volt #1 Bitcoin strategy and the Crab Volt to determine why a wallet prefer to use this Crab Volt instead of the other products.

Results

The results shown that 229 unique users deposited to the Crab #3Volt so far, with almost 300 transactions done using it.

The users who interacted with the Crab Strategy #3 volt also interacted with the major of the rest of the Friktion volts. The most intereacted with have been Friktion Solana #2 volt put followed by Friktion LUNA #2 volt put with 30 and 28 users respectively. In both cases, more than 10% of the Crab active users have used these volts.

Finally, the chart above shows the crossover between Crab Strategy #3 volt and BTC #1 volt. Few users used it but more used Crab after using BTC than using BTC after using Crab.

Why it occurs? Basically because of Crab Volt is the new Friktion product and seems to be a improved version of previous vaults. Basically, the volt is a single-sided stablecoin (USDC) deposit, which is one of the primary differences between it and Volt #1Bitcoin. Users of the Volt #1Bitcoin, on the other hand, must deposit Wrapped Bitcoin into the volt in order to utilise it.

Conclusions

To conclude, we have studied the new Friktion Crab Strategy #3 volt which could be the new most used strategy of Friktion platform due to their new features that are attracting new users to the project. It seems like some users are now migrating to this volt from the others.
