Introduction

Genopets is a free-to-play mobile NFT RPG that turns real-life daily activity into enchanting gameplay, making it fun and rewarding to live an active lifestyle. Built on Solana, Genopets’ coined move-to-earn mechanic stands as a strong reminder that the more a user invests, the more he/she will inevitably appreciates.

Every step a user takes unlocks new in-game features, story advancement, aesthetic customization, performance upgrades, and, of course, the evolution of your Genopet, increasing its rarity. Its like the past Pokemon Go game launched by Nintendo.

Apart from that, users can easly be rewarded in $GENE tokens, the main token of Genopets ecosystem. GENE token is the governance and staking token used along with KI, to craft, level up Habitats, and earn in-game. GENE has also served as the primary token through which players have been purchasing Genopets NFTs in our minting games and seasonal drops.

Methodology

In this analysis, we will focus on the amount of staked GENE and we will calculate it over time. As well we will take a look at the number of unique wallets that have staked $GENE since its inception on May 18th. Furthermore, we will try to obtain the percentage of those stakers that have previously purchased a Genopets NFT. Finally, we will investigate about the trends on the Genopets NFT collection by calculating the following metrics:

• Total distinct Genopets NFT buyers
• Number of stakers that previously purchased Genopets NFT
• Percentage of GENE stakers that previously bought Genopets NFT
• Daily Genopets NFT buyers over time
• Daily Genopets NFT volume sales over time

The token has been created for provide several benefits to Genopets users:

• GENE rewards
• NFT and KI distributions
• In-game boosts and feature access
• Governance voting

Results

Interpreting the results, we can see how both the volume of GENE staked as well as the daily number of users staking show similar charts. In both cases, the major of activity was registered during the first days. In concrete during the first 2 days for the volume stkaed and the second day for the numner fo stakers.

In numbers, during the first two days the volume staked was above 100k in both days, then decreased below 30k for the rest of the days until now. The cumulative amount staked is 445k. In terms of users, the second day were more than 1500 active users but then decreased below 500 for the rest of the days. The cumulative users so far have been 4039.

Currently, a total of 446k GENE have been staked and a total of 4040 unique users staked some $GENE so far..

Looking at the Genopets collection, a total of 479 distinct users bought Genopets NFTs. 94 $GENE stakers had previously purchased Genopet NFTs representing around 2.33% of the total stakers, a low number taking into account that there is a relationship between the NFT collections and its main token.

Finally, looking at the Genopets NFT volume sale, we can see in the first image in blue the daily volume of sales and in orange the cumulative volume over time. The daily volume of sales was higher during the first days, when the area of the cumulative volume increase the most. During the last days, the volume decreased dramatically and then, the cumulative volume seems to not icnrease so much.

On the other hand, the number of Genopets NFT buyers shows a similar trend. The major of the activity was concentrated during the first month from December to mid February. Afterthat, the activity was reduced considerably. A total of 547 cumulative purcharsers have registered so far.

Conclusion

In this analysis, we have seen the amount of staked GENE over time. As well we have taken a look at the number of unique wallets that have staked $GENE since its inception on May 18th. Furthermore, the percentage of those stakers that have previously purchased a Genopets NFT has been calculated. Finally, several activity metrics about Genopets NFT collection have been provided.
