Getting Your Feet Wet, Part 2

Question 161: Assess the extent to which new users interact with each of the following projects. For Definition, clearly define what “interact with” means, e.g. “at least 1 transaction”, “at least 5 transactions”, etc. Anchor, Mirror, Pylon, Astroport, Terraswap, Prism, Mars Bonus: to be eligible for the grand prize, complete at least one of the following: Display at least one visualization to demonstrate project participation, e.g.. “total # of users who have used each project”, “total # of transactions by project”, “TVL by project”. Include Randomearth, Knowhere and your analysis

    Introduction

One of the most important parts of the blockchain and of any project is the attraction of new users. It doesn't really matter so much how active the existing users are, as this represents that they are comfortable and have longevity with the project, but more importantly what happens to the new users. If they increase, what tools they are using, what they interact with. In the case of Terra, as it is an ecosystem with different protocols and projects, what we are looking for from new users is what kind of projects they interact with the most or feel more comfortable with.

In this article, we will try to outline which projects are the most used by new users in Terra, defining new users as those who have started interacting with the platform during the last 3 months. We will focus on the following protocols: Anchor, Mirror, Pylon, Astroport, Terraswap, Prism, Mars.

    Methodology

As said before, the analysis was done taking those users who interacted for the first time during the past 3 months as new users. For these users, I have computed the number if daily interactions on each project since the ebginning of this 3 months. On the other hand, I have computed as well how many of these users have interacted with each project over time. In this case, I select users participation as users who make at least 1 transaction on the project.

    Results

Below, we can see the results I have obtained in both cases. Each chart is explained and commented after the result.

This first chart shows the amount of transactions done by new users over each day per protocol. It can be seen how during the first half of the period, the dominance was in favour of Anchor and Terraswap. Pylon and Mirror had low interactions and Astroport any because of it had not launch yet. However, since the mid of January, Astroport and Mirror started to gain powder as well as Anchor protocol. On the other hand, the transactions done in Terraswap decreased. During the last days,, Anchor has become the dominant one, but Astroport is gaining forces. In general, all protocols have increased their trasnactions because of the general number of transactions has increased considerably.

In terms of users intereacting with, takint into account that those users who interaact at least one time with the protocol have been chosen, the results are pretty similar to the previous one. It can be seen the growth of Anchor protocol since the beginning, as well as the increase of Atroport users since its launch. As well, mirror transactions has increased a little bit while Terraswap transactions have decreased.

    Conclusions

We have seen how the new users are interacting with as well as the protocols their are using. It can be seen that in general, the most common protocols at their first transactions are bascially Anchor and Terraswap, however over time, the other protocols are used as well. Taking a look at the results, we can consider that Terraswap is a first-use tool, maybe because users want to acquire their specific assets, but then, other protocols are used and Terraswap is no longer used. On the other site, Astroport has increased their uses since its launch, as well as protocols like Anchor and Mirror that after a while, their activity increases.
