Introduction and methods

THORChain has recently integrated the Terra network assets LUNA and UST on its network, allowing users to swap LUNA tokens and UST stablecoins directly for assets on other THORChain-integrated chains.

In this dashboard, we will compare the first three days of swap volumes of the following tokens:

• DOGE
• LUNA
• UST

The dsahboard shows firstly the debut time of each pool and then, two main metrics to be able to compare the activity between these tokens:

• First 3 days volume by pool
• Distribution of the 3 first day volume by pool

Results

As a result, we can see how the first token launched on Thorchain was DOGE in January 17th 2022, the LUNA and UST tokens were launched in the same day, March 25 th 2022. LUNA was launched first at 20:10 and six minutes later the UST token.

Measuring and comparing the volume moved, we can see how the difference between DOGE and Terra tokens was high. While DOGE only moved 865k USD in volume, the Terra tokens moved more than 10M USD each. The token with the highest volume moved was the UST token with almost 24M USD. In fact, taking a look at the last donut chart about the distribution of total volume moved by these tokens during the first 3 days of their launches, UST moved more than 68% of the total USD moved, LUNA more than 29% and DOGE lower than 2.5%.

Conclusion

As a conclusion, we can say that the impact of Terra tokens has been higher than the DOGE ones, because of more volume was moved during the first 3 days after the launches. In fact, the difference was more than 10x for each of the Terra tokens compared with DOGE. The difference between UST and LUNA could be explained maybe because of the launched of the UST was later than the launch of LUNA.
