LP-er Retention
Questions answered in the dashboard: What is the monthly number of Thorchain addresses that have ever added liquidity by the month of their first date of adding liquidity? What % are still providing liquidity in the THORChain ecosystem? How does it look if you filter those that provided at least $10,000 in liquidity?
Introduction and methods
In this dashboard, we will take a look at Thorchain addresses that have ever added liquidity, grouping them by the month of their first date of adding liquidity.
Furthermore, we are gonna analyze the % of them that are still providing liquidity in the THORChain ecosystem. The same analysis will be carried out filtering by those that provided at least $10,000 in liquidity.
To be able to do the analysis, we have considered the following metrics:
- Number of new LP users by month
- Number of new LP users splitted by those who are currently providing liquidity and those who not, and percentage of them
- Monthly new LP users splitted by currently providing liquidity or not and percentages, for users holding more than 10k USD in liquidty
The number of new loopers in a monthly basis have been irregular over time. While the amount of new users adding liquidity seems to be similar during the first month around 1k users, it suddently fallen to practically 0 in August and September 2021. However , the amount of monthly users increased again to the 1k in October and it has jumped to more than 4k in the last two months. The highest value has been registered in the past month, surpassing the 5k users!
In this three above charts, we can see the dsitribution of new users splitted by those who are currently providing liquidity and those who not. AS well, the precentage of poolers have been represented in the black line. We can see how the percentage of currently providers decreased over time, starting from the 40% of the users who provided liquidity for the first time in the first month, to 5.7% of the users who provided liquidity for the first time in the last month.
If we filter the users who provide less than 10k USD, and consider only those who provided more than 10k USD, the numbers are different. Here it can be seen how the percentage of users currently providing liquidity decreased dramatically. The percentage of them dropped from the starting 6.5% to the current0.36%.
Conclusion
To conclude, we have seen how the amount of new LP providers increased during the past 2 months. As well, we have seen how the percentage of users that are currently providing LPs by each month of first deposit dropped over time considerably. Finally, we have observed that this percentages are lower for those users who provided more than 10k USD in liquidity.
