Introduction and methods

In this dashboard we are gonna see the relationship and the differences between weekly swap volume and LP rewards on Thorchain. To do that, we will see each metric over time as well as an scatter plot comparing both.

Results

The first chart shows the weekly swap volume on Thorchain in both terms, RUNE and USD values. The second one shows the weekly LP rewards in both values as well.

If we take a look at the results, we can see how the trends are similar and when one of the metrics goes up, the other do the same and viceversa,

To determine this relationship, we can do a scatter ploot comparing both metrics. The two charts above shows RUNE rewards vs RUNE volume and the second one USD rewards vs USD volume. In both cases, we can see a strongly positive relationship, indicating and corroborating that when the Thorchain volume increases, the LP rewards are higher.

Conclusion

In this dashboard, we have seen the relationship between Thorchain swap volume and LP rewards, corroborating that when the swap volume increased, the LP rewards are higher. As well, in a weekly basis, we have seen how the metrics remained constant over time. However, since March 2022, the swap volume started to increased and the LP rewards do the same as well. It is a clear uptrend in the metric ssince the launch of the Terra assets on the network.
