Introduction and methods

MetaMask is a web browser extension or plugin that allows users to easily interact with dApps on the Ethereum blockchain. This is possible, because MetaMask acts as a bridge between dApps and web browsers, facilitating the use and enjoyment of them. Thanks to this, users are able to easily use these distributed applications and everything in an integrated way from their favorite browser. With support for Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and Brave, MetaMask has brought the world of dApps closer to the general public.

In this dashboard we are gonna explore the total Metamask wallet holders considering all the current active tokens. As well, we are gonna see the average value of ETH held in these wallets. Finally, we will track the percentage of wallets that are engaging in a higher order activity like staking, governance, NFTs, etc.

Results

In global, there are currently around 1.2M of Metamaks holders. These users hold in average a total of 837 ETH.

Taking into account the percentage of these Metamask users that are doing a higher order activity, the most common one is tha staking, with around 88% of the users participating on it. Another important actions are NFTs with more than 20% and Governance actions with almost 7%. The rest of the actions like donations, vaults or whitelists have 1 or less percetnage of participation.

Conclusion

In this dashboard we have analyzed the amount of Metamask users that hold some tokens right now and the average amount of ETH are holding. As well, we have explored the high order activity these users are doing.

The main insights are:

• There are currently around 1.2M of Metamaks holders. These users hold in average a total of 837 ETH.
• 88% of the users are participating on staking actions.
• Another important actions are NFTs with more than 20% and Governance actions with almost 7%. The rest of the actions like donations, vaults or whitelists have 1 or less percetnage of participation.
