Trending NFT Projects
Create a visualization showing NFT sales volume on Flow since May 9th. Which NFT projects are trending on Flow right now and what is the general trend of NFT sales over the last month? Do the projects that are trending seem to have common wallets or is there not much crossover between buyers/sellers?
Introduction and methods
Flow is a fast, decentralized, and developer-friendly blockchain, designed as the foundation for a new generation of games, apps, and the digital assets that power them. One of the most prominent advantage is the capacity to provide users to create or design NFT collections as well as buy or sell it.
In this dashboard we are gonna track the NFT sales volume on Flow since May 9th. First of all, we are gonna see a global daily numbers in terms of sales, volume, and buyers. Then, we will track the same metrics by collection. Finally, we will track the top 3 NFT collection by sales volume.
Furthermore, we will explore the crossover between NFT collections by calculating the following metrics:
- Average bought collections per user
- Average sold collections per user
- Buyer crossovers between top 3 collections
- Seller crossovers between top 3 collections
Taking a look at the FLow NFT activity, we can see how in all of the cases (daily sales, volume sales and daily buyers) the trend looks similar. It seems like over the past days, the activity decreased considerably. While daily sales have passed from arodun 40k to 10k, daily volume passed from around 0.5M FLOW to 0.3M. As well, the daily buyers decreased from around 5k during the first days of the analysis to around 3k.
It is to say that there was an increase on the global activity during 26th of May.
To get a deep look t what happened during this time, we will split the activity metrics by each NFT collection.
Taking a look at the first chart, we can see how the daily sales volume by collection has been dominated by Top Shot project. The number of sales of this project dramatically decreased over the past days and it seems like for this reason, the global sales activity trend looks bad. We can see as well that there are some important collections like All Day which activity remained constant over time with some peaks. Finally, there are as well some new projects that appeared during May like RCRDSHPNFT or PackNFT, but its activity decreased after a few days of the launch.
Taking a look at the volume sales and the daily buyers, we can see that the trends are similar. In all of the days there were a big NFT collection: Top Shot that leadered the ranking, followed by All Day and UFC_NFT. In these charts, we can see how the peak on May 26th was oberved due to the new collection PackNFT that was launched at that point.
Extracting global information about previous data, the first donut shows the distribution of collections by total volume, where it can be seen that the Top Shot represents more than 64% of the total volume sales, while Al Day around 16.6%. There are also important the PackNFT and UFC_NFT collections with 7.38% and 6.11% respectively.
The second donut only shows the top 3 collections aforementioned. Iin this case, we can see how Top Shot represents almost 73% (13.5M FLOW) of the top 3 volume sales, All Day around 19% (3.5M FLOW) and 8% (1.5M FLOW) is represented by PackNFT.
If we take a look at the number of collections that users are interacting with, we can see that users are interacting with more collections when they buy than when they sell. In average, users are buying 1.25 different collections while selling 1.16 different collections.
Going further and finishing the analysis, we can take a look at the number of crossovers between the top 3 collections. In this case, a total of 9.87k different crossovers were detected between the Top Shot, All Day and PackNFT collections considering the buyers. On the other hand, 8.07k crossovers were detected among these collections considering sellers.
